A regular correspondent's email is ALWAYS placed in SPAM no matter how many times I say it isn't spam
I need to know how to tell Thunderbird that the email is NOT SPAM. I have tried everything suggested and nothing works.

A couple of suggestions.
1) After opening an email marked as spam (by Thunderbird's spam filter), there is no option to confirm that this is, indeed spam. The email can be marked as "Not spam," but not confirmed to be spam. Unless I'm missing something, I have to go back to the inbox, mark it as spam manually, and then it is automatically sent to the spam box.
2) Assuming I understand the spam filtering correctly, once Thunderbird marks emails as spam, they remain in the inbox for at least 1 day (or longer if desired). I would like to have those emails sent IMMEDIATELY to the spam box, where I can still examine them to make sure they're spam before deleting them.
That way, the inbox will have only emails that either are not spam at all and those that haven't been marked as such.
As the system now works -- unless I'm misusing it somehow -- once the filter marks emails as spam, I still have to wade through them to sort out the good ones. In my view, that pretty much defeats the purpose of having the filter in the first place. I still have to "mark" them as spam again to get them sent to the spam box.
Perhaps I should note that this inbox gets dozens of spam emails every day and that I check it multiple times per day.

When I send a mail with FileLink, I get the message: "The message could not be sent. An error occurred while sending the email. The server responded with: “Spam message rejected.” Please check the message and try again." (actually, in French: "L’envoi du message a échoué. Une erreur est survenue lors de l’envoi de l’e-mail. Le serveur a répondu : Spam message rejected. Veuillez vérifier le message et essayer à nouveau.")
I made different tests:
So, I suspect the spam filter to refuse the "attached shortcut".
The question: Is there a way to configure the FileLink feature so that it does not attach a file, but just add the link the body of the message?' Or are there other neat workarounds?'

Its great that I can simply delete unwanted emails. However, the senders seem to never honor the unsubscribe request. And using unsubscribe just lets the sender know the email address is active. Its a never ending cycle of invading my privacy. Why can't Thunderbird create an option where unwanted emails can be directed "quarantined". A firewall that recognizes and stops the sender from emailing me period.
a recent mail from Thunderbird can't removed.

I am using Protonmail with Thunderbird. In my Protonmail web account there is nothing in ANY folder but the very few I am currently keeping, including All Mail. The same folders and messages are represented in Thunderbird folders. However, in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\wiu0xbpg.default-release\ImapMail\127.0.0.1, the All Mail folder contains all previous messages, including deleted messages, are still present. When I delete a message, I want it deleted. As can be seen in the attached image, All Mail is very large whereas all other folders are very small. 1. How can this be cleaned up? 2. How can this be prevented in the future? Thanks for any direction in this matter.

good day....ii hope someone can help. the other day i was accessing my yahoo account spam folder and by accident, i deleted the spam folder instead of emptying it. the spam folder is now sitting in the trash and i'm unable to remove it from there. when i log into my actual yahoo account, the spam folder is where it's supposed to be and not in the trash. i tried removing the yahoo account from thunderbird and reinstalling it in hopes that it would rectify the problem, but it hasn't. does anyone have a solution?? i would greatly appreciate any help you can offer. thank you for your time...mike s

Thunderbird 143.0.1 eclipse.
Quite recently I noticed that, in the list of folders, I see 2 "Junk" folders.
On looking at the properties for 1 Junk folder the location is shown as "imap://*********%40gmail.com@imap.gmail.com/Junk",
but properties for the other shown as Junk locates as "imap://*********%40gmail.com@imap.gmail.com/Spam".
I've tried renaming that folder in Thunderbird to Spam but the change doesn't take effect.
What went wrong, and more importantly how can I rename it to see it as "Spam"?
tnx.

I am using Thunderbird 147.0.1 connected to an Exchange 365 service using web access. All folders except Junk are listed on the left hand pane and are synchronising to local storage.
When I go to 'Account Settings', 'Synchronisation and storage, 'Advanced' the Junk mail folder is not listed as available for se;ection.
How do I enable the junk folder to be available locally? Many thanks for ant assistance.

My junk email has increased dramatically lately. I'm sure it's just life on the internet but I'm trying to figure out if clicking "unsubscribe" actually does anything. I've been putting all the emails that I click "unsubscribe" into a separate folder. I'd like to sort the folder by the email address of the sender. However, when you click on the "from" selection in the message window it gives you the entire entry that the sender put in the send section. In other words I see "The Scary Law, Thomas T. from NFE <daily@today.newfinanceera.com>". Is there a way to get a column that just shows the "<daily@today.newfinanceera.com>" so I can sort on that item?

I want to change the folder to which I currently send my spam filters on my Mac. I understand how I can edit them individually and handle new filters, however I have several hundred accumulated filters created over the years and doing so individually will be very time consuming. Is there a method I can use to change all existing spam filter's destination folder in a single step. I know a bit about using Config Editor, Chrome css, probably just enough to get my self in trouble. I see several spam filter files within the Thunderbird folder, but not sure if they are germane.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I need to completely disable Thunderbird's Junk filters.

Brand new imported domain email account. I accidentally clicked on "Run Spam Controls on Folder" for the inbox for this account, and it marked over 4,000 emails as spam! How do I undo this? Delete the account and re-import it? I didn't set up any filters; I just set up a few tags, marked about 30 emails as spam, and deleted them. That's it.
