Hello This is rather weird... to me at least!

I recently noticed while I was replying an email, that when I type numbers they are not visible.

If I send email - sent it to myself, I can see numbers are there!

Only happens on new emails!

I already tried downgrading up to the point I could not downgrade more as - it obviously and annoyingly cannot load emails on a not very old version.

Never mind that - I much preferred version 1115-125 really.

Can anyone help.

I am going insane.

On any other computer with various version all works.

I am trying to transition from Windows 10 to 11 but cannot log in to my AOL email account on the Windows 11 device. A message comes back "Edge: Too many requests". Presumably this refers to Windows Edge? although I have set Firefox as the default browser. I have set up my Gmail account without problem and the AOL configuration is correct. I can log in OK if I visit the AOL webpage and also still log in from the Windows 10 device. Any help would be gratefully received.

Version 128.10.2 (Supernova.) Was working fine until three days ago. NO email for the last three days. It does connect to the server, it simply refuses to download anything after the status messages at the bottom have run their course. No error messages. Checked server settings - no changes from last time I saw them. Called email provider and verified settings. They see no problem at their end (of course.) Tried her new computer that has an older version of Tbird installed (115.10.1, (Supernova)) and it works fine. Any known issues with this newer 'Nebula" version, or any ideas of where I should look for the problem? Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I want to log into my university-related email account with thunderbird, to have all my emails in one place, and to be able to send emails from my "official" student email. I'm stuck on entering my password, because to log into the account in a browser, one has to go via the institutional login of my uni (Uni Freiburg, Germany). So instead of assigning a specific password for that email account, it redirects you to the university-wide login page, uses your username and password that you access all other uni-services, and then directy you back to the email-account.

So if I enter the password that I would enter on the uni-wirde login page, it tells me it's wrong (i've of course quintuple-checked this).

Do you have any experience or are familiar with cases like this? Do you think it's possible at all to log into my uni-mail in thunderbird?

Hi all,

I have found a bug with version 10.1 of the Thunderbird email app for Android.

When I go to Sent Items in the Thunderbird app, choose a previously sent email to view it, then choose 'Edit as new message', then make the necessary changes and choose 'Save draft', Thunderbird crashes and the new message is lost (not getting saved in drafts).

Thunderbird program is all messed up. First, I cannot send an email, even to myself, and get error message: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMPT) error. The server responded: p-impout005.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net cmsmtp Connection Rejected - see htto//www.spamhaus.org/query/ip/121.127.34.205 AUP#Out-1220." Spectrum person I called referred me to Spectrum.net, and I am unable to get any help in that web site. My Thunderbird inbox page also now has the saved items in the left column all mixed up. Help me retrieve my inbox and its subfolders. I have used Thunderbird for 9 or 10 years or more. I know how to find Users and the thunderbird profiles but I cannot figure out what to do next. This is a disaster for me because earthlink doesn't save my old messages.

My computer (Surfacepro 6) crashed shortly before this happened. Thunderbird seems to have updated itself at some point while this was happening and suddenly it was asking me to log in. I didn't know whether to imap or pop. I should have stopped there and gotten help, but i was so bewildered that moments before I was writing emails and several minutes later - poof.

I am trying to get away from Google and anything Google like its' search engine. I contribute financially to Mozilla and would prefer to use Thunderbird. I set up an account with Mailfence, as it was one of the only options I could find away from the big tech entities that had an independent email server. (If there is a better alternative please let me know, but I have already paid for a year of service.) I have not been able to get Thunderbird and Mailfence to work together. How do I dissociate with Google and change to Mailfence? Thanks for any help in my effort! Jeff

Today, when I use, create, or rename a sub folder in my inbox, then move an email into it, the email doesn't display in the sub folder. (it says no message found). All filters are off. Across the top of the open sub folder, it says the name of the sub folder in bold, and says there are "2 messages". So, the messages were moved, but I can't see them. I have version 140.4.0esr, 32 bit. Interestingly, it hasn't asked for an update. Also, I'm using Windows 10 Home, v 22H2, 64 bit. I appreciate any thoughts, folks. Thanks! Allan

I am getting this error message "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

I definitely have enough disc space. I have been trying to archive old messages but that doesn't seem to help.

In The Olde Days (TM) when Thunderbird had plain-language file names I could archive the old folders, delete all the messages before a date I might reasonably need them (in this case I probably would have used 2024) and that seemed to clear it up.

However now all the folders are names with artificially created random characters, I can't tell what is what.

I've tried some things including restarting and some message archiving, but I have no idea how to further troubleshoot this problem!

I have installed Thunderbird via POP3 protocol. I can receive mail, but not send. Yesterday I bought BitDefender Premium Security with VPN (Unlimited traffic). As soon as I turned it on, I can't send any more messages. When I turn it off, I can send messages normally. My VPN is set to my country (Croatia). Can someone help me how to get Thunderbird to work as before? I would like to point out that I really need a VPN, because I work with sensitive data. Here are the settings for the incoming and outgoing servers:

I allowed Thunderbird to compact my files after I got tired of seeing the prompts for it, now all my messages are apparently gone for one account, in over 12 different sub folders. How do I get these back’ for ‘Thunderbird’ ? VERY IMPORTANT! version 144.0.1 (64 bit)

This is the second time I have lost emails with Thunderbird.

Your information indicates that compacting would not cause any data loss. That has not been the case.

To date, I further haven't received any response regarding how I might retrieve those emails.

Many of these emails are quite important to my business - and I entrusted your software to preserve those. Again - no response regarding how I might retrieve them.

Please respond ASAP - I am at critical juncture here, and need a resolution forthwith.

I recently set up unified mailbox for all my email accounts under manage folders. I activated it for Inbox, sent, and trash but when I go to the unified folder it only show inbox not sent or trash folders. Why? The inbox folder portion is dispalying all messages by color code correctly.

I am using TB mobile version 13.0

I am using Thunderbird V144.0.1 on a computer running Windows 11 Home build 26100. Suddenly, Thunderbird stopped displaying some of my Local Folders. I don't know what I did to cause it; I don't recall making any changes. On investigating the issue, none of the other help I found in the forums or elsewhere on-line worked for me.

While performing one of the instructions, I was trying to copy my Thunderbird profile mail folder to a different location before creating a new profile. Copying the folder gave me an error of a file name being too long. I moved the folder with the too-long file into a different subfolder with a shorter directory name. Lo and behold, all of my folders, including the ones I moved, are now appearing in my Thunderbird Local Folders.

I don't really need any help, but I wanted to post this solution since I didn't encounter it anywhere else.
