Recently, all folders only display the Thunderbird start page with a donation request that cannot be clicked away. And when I disable the display of the start page in the settings, nothing is displayed at all (see screenshot).

I have an email that is stuck in a local folder. The email appears to be empty. I can see the subject, correspondent, date, and status; but when I click on it, all I see is a blank page. I can neither delete nor move it to another folder or my desktop. How can I delete this message?

I’m using the Windows 11 version of the Thunderbird app, but when I try to add my Outlook account and enter my password, it shows “Authentication failed. Please check your username and password,” and I can’t complete the Outlook setup. I’ve tried changing my Microsoft account password and entering an app password, but neither worked.

Hello Everyone. I have an issue when trying to add a second email address to Thunderbird; I get an error 'Authentication failed. Please check the username and password...Exchange auth error' but I am able to log in to my account online using these details. It is an Outlook.com email address. Any ideas?

Using thunderbird on several linux machines without issues. Loaded it on a windows 10 machine to get away from outlook and could not load a .org email account hosted by google that works on my other machines. Loading screen just spins endlessly (I let it go about 30 hours). Unable to get to the manual entry portion of the software to put in gmail setting.

Is there a way to bypass the automatic check with the software and go straight to manual entry of email settings? Suggestions?

My mom's email is an old Roundcube account, managed by some little server service or something that doesn't seem to exist anymore - Execunet. She's in a lawsuit, and the lawyers need some emails from a certain date and timestamp. Her emails are also all in files from her real estate days. I can't seem to be able to search dates from the Execunet email site, and I also can't search all of her inbox - once files are put in folders, they're out of the inbox.

So I tried Thunderbird on my laptop, an dit's downloading all of her emails from 2006, which is in the tens of thousands. If and once I find what I need, I want to delete them from my computer. How do I do that without deleting them from the server, since the account is set up as IMAP? I searched but couldn't find any answers.

Thanks for the help - I'm sure others have asked about this, so I was surprised I couldn't find the answer easily.

Hi I have a 100% standard installation of Thunderbird I usw a lot of local folders where I keep some mails. Suddenly all my folders disapeared. I had removed thunderbird and installed it again and suddenly the folders apeared again But next day when I started thunderbird the had disapeared again. What shall i do, it will be very tiring to delete and install thunderbird everey time I use it Regards Ole

I frequently use Shift-Delete to get rid of mail but not have it go to Trash. Well, after 10+ years, the inevitable finally happened today when I Shift-Deleted several messages, it was actually several *hundreds* of messages, like maybe 1000+. Inbox is almost empty, can't Undo. I have not closed Thunderbird and have copied out the file "Inbox" (1.04 MB) and "Inbox.msf", in the hopes of being able to retrieve the lost mail. I'm hoping those deleted messages are still in the Inbox, but I don't know how to retrieve. Any help or hints would be very appreciated. Oh, one more stupid thing - my backup of Thunderbird is several months old, which would help, but I'd still feel stupid. Thanks for whatever.

I have Thunderbird running on Win 11. I have several email accounts, and 4 local folders. In one of the local folders, there are several emails, and the bottom 2 emails (as shown in the image) will not delete when I hit the delete button. When I do an "open in new tab" in Thunderbird, it opens a view that shows blank. How can I get these 2 emails to delete? and what is preventing them from being deleted via the delete button?

I downloaded thunderbird 144.0.1 and I'm trying to manually set up a 3rd email account, but the wizard gets stuck on "continue" after typing in name and email address forever. I also don't have the option of accessing "account actions". Working offline also does not reveal “Skip / Use my own email setup”.
