Upgraded from `102.15.1` (deb) to `140.9.1esr` (flatpak).

Now for all my Imap folders the default action (double-click) is `Edit Draft` instead of `Open`. This is confirmed by right-clicking and having `Edit Draft Message` in bold at the top of the list.

How can I fix it?

- imported old profile with `⁝` -> `Tools` -> `Import`

- found https://support.mozilla.org/gl/questions/1364428 and tried the addon it recommended but none of the imap folders were flagged as draft.

I have tried to set up a table in Thunderbird but the column width is much too big.

How can I reduce the column width, please?

Hello I want to use my calendar and adressbook from different PCs which have access to a common network device like P: So I intend to locate and use Thunderbird calendar and adressbook on dedicated device P:. Is there a way to achieve that? Thanks lot Thomas

When trying to set Firefox to open a file on Windows 11, it is overwritten by Firefox Nightly. I have both branches installed.

This is how it goes when attempting to set Firefox as a default application in my machine:

1. "Apps > Default Apps"
2. .mp4 (for example)
3. click the button below that displays the current default application
4. Firefox Nightly appears in this menu
5. "Choose an app on your PC"
6. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" ... "firefox.exe" ... "Open"
7. Firefox Nightly remains in this menu

I cannot get Firefox to appear as an available app in this menu. The only workaround, although inconvenient, is to drag and drop files straight into Firefox.

An IRS form 4506-B PDF has to filled out and sent with adobe reader, if you use a browser it disables funtions in adobe acrobate reader that allow you to send the form. Thunderbird works find to send regular emails. It isnt working when I click on the "submit form" buttton at bottom of the 4506-B forms page. I ran Thunderbird in troubleshoot mode and turned off all AVG protection includeing VPN and it still wont work. I tried with my aol and gmail accounts.

When I inadvertently press CTRL + R when entering text, it is VERY frustrating because the window refreshed and I loose all of what I typed! Is there some way to disable the CTRL + R combo so the window does not refresh?

had the need to start a fresh thunderbird profile.

now I forget which setting(s) allow for thunderbird to scan the local folders, NOT the internet, for new mail.

any suggestions?

Using the desktop version I have a bar just above the Inbox which shows 9 messages. How can I toggle this ribbon off so it doesn't show messages that I have read or put into folders. See bar that is highlighted in image #2.

The Notifications Bar seems to be missing from the top of an email message that is being shown below the list of messages. So there is no "Options" box where it is usually shown, on the Notifications Bar, so that I can manage Remote Content in the message being shown.

I believe that version 145.0, newly installed on the 9th December, 2025 was showing server folders correctly; the server folder name matched the client folder name.

After upgrading to 146.0 on the 10th December, the server folder names for some folders are displaying with different client folder names.

The IMAP account has both "spam" and "junk" folders, Thunderbird is now displaying both as "Spam", you can only determine which folder is which by showing folder properties. It appears to users that there are two "Spam" folders now and not the two distinct folders with their own names.

Similar behaviour is happening for "Sent" and "Sent Messages" folders, both now display as "Sent".

These changes are confusing, the client sees two "Spam" folders and two "Sent" folders instead of the original proper server folder names.

Why has the display name for these folders changed?

How can I get TB to display the real underlying folder names?

(srry if wrong topic) basicly when i use the customize firefox tab it tells me about the overflow menu but when i try to add BUILT-IN tools like zoom control it just, not, and also the overflow icon apears gray'ed out,

I use Thunderbird and have done for years. Nowadays new messages seem to be placed in the inbox within previous email threads within that thread. This often means that they are not flagged as new emails. They get buried in old threads and never brought to notice, consequently are never seen. This means I miss a lot of emails.

Is there any selectable option that brings all messages into the inbox individually and visibly, so that they are not missed, and always seen. That is, stops emails being placed within an existing thread, no matter what its content is. I am very happy to reorganise my incoming mails manually.

In Thunderbird, how can I stop text in the previous emails in a string turning blue?

I have looked everywhere in Settings where colour is mentioned and everything is set to black text on a white background. Nothing is set to blue.

I do not want to see blue text anywhere.

I don't know where this should go so if you can foward it on, please do so.

When I delete an email, a pop up gives me a chance to compact folders now, or remind me later. This is a minor annoyance and can probably use a fix. I do want to compact folders, but not while I'm in the middle of reading and deleting my email.

How about using whatever trigger is used to, instead of popping up the small window, do a delay and open the popup when it's more convenient and useful, like when I delete my trash or go to close the program?
