Hello -- I'm hoping someone will be able to help!

I'm running Thunderbird 140.9.1esr (32-bit) on Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6466) with an Intel Core i7 processor.

Thunderbird suddenly started crashing repeatedly since yesterday. It ran long enough for me to install version 140.9.1esr, but still crashes repeatedly within a couple minutes of running the application, even if I don't do anything such as trying to reply to a message.

Please see below what I get in the Windows Event Viewer, pretty much the same for each crash. I have also pasted the contents of the following file (the others mentioned above don't exist).

I've gone to Troubleshooting Information, I've "cleared startup cache", I've tired "Troubleshoot Mode" and still Thunderbird crashes. There's nothing in Crash Reports.

Any help would be truly appreciated!

For about 2 weeks, EVERY time I try to write an email, after typing a few lines or so, the whole window 'grays out' and becomes UN-responsive. I get no error message. Waiting for it to respond doesn't work and I have to close out and re-start Thunderbird. Sometimes Thunderbird will have saved some portion of my email in my 'Drafts' folder, but not reliably, so I have to frequently 'Control + S' - save it to avoid having to re-type the entire message again. Troubleshoot Mode doesn't help, nor does clearing the cache. I've been hoping an update would come up that would solve this, either from Thunderbird or Windows (11), but not so far. Please tell me how I should resolve this - I have used Thunderbird for years (and regularly contribute too) and don't want to have to change to different email client.

I've always experience occasional TB crashes. According to my log history there was 1 in July, 3 in Aug, 2 in Sep, 2 in Oct, and 6 in Nov. I never really paid attention since the reboot was quick. But now in December I am losing work and it is a major problem. I've had 30 crashes in Dec and 21 in the past week. I have only 3 add ons and they have not changed, and a Copernic connector. I disable the Copernic connector and it didn't help. I have the same 140.6 on my Surface Go with the same add ons, except for Copernic and it runs fine. On both PCs I use Malewarebytes and WinDef. I have put exclusions for them in their setups. Even with MBAM completely disabled I've still had crashes.

I cleared the Cache and no help. I've even had occasional crashes in Troubleshooting mode. Here are my last 5 crash IDs

Interestingly I’m also experiencing crashes with Firefox, especially ChatGPT. I cleared the ChatGPT history and that helped but did not solve the problem. I cleared the Firefox cache and in troubleshoot mode still have issues.

Otherwise my win11 PC seems to be working fine. I’ve run chkdsk and all is ok. Also scannow is ok.

Is my next step a profile rebuild?

I'm able to add an e-mail account but when I go to add a second e-mail account, when it looks up the information, it just hangs with the circle going around.

This is true for two different user accounts on the same computer.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird but it didn't help.

Thunderbird can't be exited without killing from the task manager or shutting down.

I need to change some config settings to prevent some problems that corrupt the screen or crash Firefox on android almost every day. I found that using a Bluetooth reduces the frequency of these problems, but it still happens and is very frustrating.

Sadly Thunderbird often hangs, particularly if a network disk goes down. It is a strange hang, with the Inbox shown when hovering the task bar, but selecting it does not open the window. I have been observing this for perhaps 6 months.

In the past, it was sometimes possible to Close Window, else End Task, but neither have any effect. It seems that End Task is disabled.

Consequentky when Thunderbird hangs, the only way to restore Thunderbird functionality is to tidily close all other applications, restart Windows, which fails, hold power button for 5 seconds, then manually start again.

At some point in the last couple of weeks, I've started running into very frequent crashes running Firefox in the Linux container on my Chromebook. It previously worked well, but is now unusable. I'm now running Firefox version 147.0.3 on Chrome version 144.0.7559.167. This is after I did a clean reinstall of Firefox using flatpak, which didn't help. It seems like it often happens when my mouse hovers over a browser tab or icon (eg account, extensions, hamburger). Other quirky display behaviour, which mayor may not related, is that videos are often not working (eg Youtube, BBC), and various browser windows (eg when selecting Manage Bookmarks, or restarting in safe mode), open a small size-reduced window. My Thunderbird crash whenever I tried to "save as" an email, save the attachment of an email, attach a file to an outgoing email.

Every time I did the mentioned, Thunderbird prompts the normal window of my laptop's folders, but it disappear in a second with the Thunderbird crash and quit.

This situation happened after I installed MS365 on my laptop.

I did try the below: 1. Reset attachment directory - mail.compose.attach.dir 2. Run in trouble shooting mode 3. Repair folder index 4. Clear cache

I became a THunderbird user recently to help me transfer e-mails from one system (e-mails sent to my e-mail address being collected by Gmail using POP3) - I have a gmail.com address too which shows all the e-mails in the same Inbox. Google are withdrawing support for Pop3. I am moving to Hostinger which happily collects and displays all my emails on its Webmail service. Thunderbird is a great tool for moving e-mails fro Inbox (and al other folders) from the Gmail to Hostinger. But yesterday it crashed and wouldn't restart = white windows says at the top 'not responding = and Windows Task Manager shows me Thunderbird still seems to be talking to one of my accounts and has 6 other tasks open. I stopped those tasks and closed Task Manager. I have uninstalled and re-installed but it comes back with the same symptoms and same tasks running. How do I stop this and get it back properly again

I've been using Firefox on Linux since it was Nautilus. Currently running EasyOS Linux Daedalus and Excalibur on different Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Core i3-8100t boxes and different drives: A good Samsung SSD and two good flashdrives. 32G new RAM installed on each box. I've been using these boxes for over a year. For the last month or so, ever since updating to v. 146 my tabs have been crashing like crazy! I don't normally have more than 10 tabs open at once. But now, as soon as I open a 5th tab it crashes.

I'm running Top to watch CPU and RAM usage. I see nothing unusual. I've rebooted. Disabled all add-ons and run in Troubleshoot mode. Tabs still crash. My only add-ons are uBlock Origin, Temporary Containers and Dark Mode. It happens whether I have hardware acceleration turned on or off. I don't know what else to try. I've been trying to add yahoo account for several weeks, I type in the email address on the add account function and then I just get a wheel of death and have to force shut the programme, I'm on windows 11.

Lately my Firefox app window will just randomly close while I'm using it. I notice most often on Facebook, but that's because it's the most often used page.

When I reopen the app, it's like I just opened it, not like it got minimized.

What's wrong with it? I have it updated to current version, as well as I've run malware and virus scans to see if it's my phone. Nothing found.

My thunderbird email repeatedly keeps crashing after being open for about 5 minutes or so. Time after time for the past 4-5 days. I have sent reports each and every time but the problem persists .can you please help me I will have no choice but to cancel my account and donation. Thank youbold text

I just updated to K-9 mail 12.0 on CalyxOS 6.10.20 Which is an Android version 15 K-9 mail crashes on startup. Clearing cache does not work. I'm asking here before i clear all data and try again
