Why do I get a popup from McAfee " the download contains viruses spyware and other potentially unwanted programs". Why is it "safe" to download Firefox?
If I click on "download in the Firefox website I get the McAfee warning. How can be assured that there are no viruses or malware in the download?

Are you downloading from here: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/fx/#desktop
If you are ever in doubt about a download or attachment, you can upload it to this site for scanning: http://www.virustotal.com/
