Apple icloud Notes pages do not print from FF, but are OK printing from Safari

I have posted a problem report at Apple support here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4307080 I posted today in that thread as user rj_oregon. Will CC info below. But to explain:

Apple iCloud notes is a native Apple OS app (phone, ipad, Lion), but also accessible as a web-based cloud application by logging in at icloud.com on my non-lion platform. The icloud web-based "Notes" page (via browser, not native Apple app) seems to confuse FireFox browser (several versions) compared to printing the same content via Safari. All the OS and browser versions are encapsulated in my Apple support posting.

Once again, Apple has done something "special" in Safari that allows me to print a "notes" page from the browser window (running under two different versions of OS and Safari). But when I use several versions of FireFox and try printing the same web-based "notes" content, what comes out is a "black" page, no content.

Whatever mechanism Apple uses to render and print pages in the Safari browser, they've broken FF's ability to do the same. If FF can't find out how to print these pages, (Webkit?) and emulate it, I'm going to have to ditch FF, I'm now forced to use Safari to access iCloud for printing. Seems Apple is doing something clever/malicious here, or Mozilla is not keeping up, or both: it's been a year since one other browser/PDF/printing feature has broken in FF but remains OK in Safari, and the last problem report I filed with Mozilla resulted in a big shrug (related to WebKit).

Mozilla, can you keep up, or is Apple trying to lock you out of the browser platform?

here is a CC of the Apple support posting.

Notes won't print-page black

I cannot seem to print iCloud notes directly from a FireFox browser session (multiple versions), though I have been able to from a Safari session (mutiple versions).

I have a MBPro running 10.7.3 (no icloud app); if I log into the "web" version of icloud (FFox 15.0.1) and try to print an icloud note (File -> Print) from the browser window, all that comes up (print, or "open PDF in Preview") is a blacked page, no note. If I open Safari (5.1.5) AND make sure the cursor is active in the actual note frame, then File -> Print actually works.

Another way I can print from iCloud Notes is on another machine in the house running 10.8.1 and the native icloud app, there File-> Print works. Also on this machine, if I open browser (FFox 16.0.1), log into icloud, print from web-based icloud, same problem, prints a black page. If I open another browser (Safari 6.0), AND make sure the cursor is active in the actual note window, then File-> Print actually works.

On an ipad, I don't have print options, as I don't have an airprint-enabled printer (running ios% if that matters, have no desire to upgrade to ios6 yet).

Curses.
