Asks if I want to close more tabs than visible and opens unwanted tab that won't close

This is an intermittent issue. Occasionally the browser will randomly open an extra empty tab. When trying to close it using keyboard short cuts, clicking on the X, or right clicking it does not work.

When trying to close the program to get rid of it, the window pops up asking if we want to close a number of tabs that equals: The tabs I was looking at, the empty tab, and one more I can not see. I tried updating the program with no effect on this issue.

Any suggestions?

You can try to check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

You can also try to clear (delete) the cache folder on your hard drive, see the about:cache page about where to locate the cache folder.

You can also try to open a new window and drag the tabs to that window to see if the new window behaves better.
