Suddenly I am limited to three tabs in a window. What setting did I change?

I must have changed some setting in Firefox so that the "new tab" button will not work for more that three tabs. Additional tabs require a new window. I can't find a way to reset to the default setting. TW

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
