Print to PDF. Firefox 3.x print files could be optimized in Acrobat Pro 9.x to be 100 KB or less. Firefox 4.0 print files are typically more than 1,000 KB, even after Acrobat optimization. IE9 print files are similarly large, but Google Chrome allows reduction, as does Firefox 3.5.1, which I just reinstalled.

Example: Same news-site article, printed to Adobe PDF by clicking on news-site's "print" buttons exactly according to regular process. In Firefox 4.0, the PDF is 1,823 KB after optimization in Acrobat Pro. In Firefox 3.5.1, the PDF of the exact same web page is 33 KB after optimization. In Google Chrome, the PDF is 50 KB after optimization. I didn't try IE9 because Firefox 3.5.1 gives me what I need (AND puts the tabs at the edge of my workspace, not three or four lines away from my workspace).
