Update not needed?

Every 2 or 3 days, Thunderbird tells me it needs to be updated. I run the update but halfway through it stops and tells me that I have a newer version on my PC. Why can it not recognise that I am up to date?

What version is shown in Help > About?

(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/thunderbird/form should have requested you to provide the version number)

Help says 147.0.1 64bit.

Do Help > Troubleshooting Information and click "Show Update History". The information there could be helpful and you could post it here.

Find and open the Thunderbird application folder (not the profile), shown in Help > Troubleshooting Information.

Shut down Thunderbird and delete that folder. Reinstall from https://www.thunderbird.net/
