Yesterday afternoon emails suddenly stopped going out. I sent an email successfully at 2:18 p.m. At 2:57 p.m. I couldn't get anything to send. Today the problem persists.

I have not changed anything. My roommate also uses Thunderbird and has not had any problem. I've compared my settings to hers and they seem to be the same. I have closed and reopened Thunderbird with no improvement.

I'm using Thunderbird 128.8.1esr (64 bit). I'm including images of the error message and the server settings.

Thanks for any help. Nancy

Chosen solution

Yes, Oauth2 is specified.

My problem resolved itself. I powered down my computer and restarted it. When it came back up, it asked me to sign in to Google, which I usually don't have to do. When Thunderbird opened, it was working fine. So I don't know if the problem was a hiccup in my operating system that resolved upon restart, or that the Google sign-in had hiccupped. (The email address I use with Thunderbird is gmail.)

Just realized -- I'm also not receiving any emails! I hadn't noticed that because I've read them on my phone.
