I'm looking for a way to prevent a certain directory/folder from being synchronized automatically by Thunderbird. The background is, that there is a SPAM IMAP directory where my email provider places emails marked as SPAM. I don't want those emails to get into Thunderbird at all. Would be cool to have a checkbox for each main IMAP folder, if it shall be ignored. Thanks in advance!

Try this: highlight account in left folder pane, rightclick, select 'subscribe' and possibly you can untick the spam folder.

Hi David, unfortunately, there is no option "synchronize" in the current version (102.5.0). Within Properties/Synchronization there is a checkbox to select a directory for offline reading, which is of no help for the problem. I would suppose a setting -- maybe a hidden one in prefs.js -- that allows to ignore certain directories/folders, say mail.imap.directory_ignores or something like this.
