tabs blank along with email
I open several emails. I use Ctrl-1 and Ctrl-9 to go back and forth.
I deleted C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\9azxazfvuzfa.default-release\session.json as I couldn't remove the last session when I closed TB.
Now I sometimes get blank tabs along with blank emails.
Delete the file again? Did I mess myself up somehow?
Thanks.

when you reopen Thunderbird after you delete the session file you should have no tabs. So I am just a little confused here.
Matt,
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion.
Removing the session.json file removed the previous tabs. Good so far.
As I added new tabs and read them, I'd switch to the next tab and the information was gone along with the tab title. Just blank.
At first, it seemed that each message (and tab) disappeared as it did before. Then I would close that tab and I could read the next.
Since I now limited what emails I opened, I was able to reopen the one that "disappeared".
Thanks again for the reply.

I don't believe it's the .json file. I closed TB and Tab info returned. Other programming?
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\9zfvuzfa.default-release
Hi.
Still get blank tabs w/emails. Tried "repair" and removed all tabs after email reboot. ???
check the setting in preferences/options for the use of hardware acceleration. try reversing the setting2 either on or off there is not a correct setting
I would be more inclined to think it is just a banking of the information on the tab for that tab caused by some sort of video issue. When you click on that tab do you see the email that should be there?
Matt, Do you mean (attached)? No option for hardware.
TB using default settings.
No to your question.
Tab is blank and email disappears.
???
re :check the setting in preferences/options for the use of hardware acceleration. try reversing the setting2 either on or off there is not a correct setting
Additional info - Tools > Options - click on 'Options' - as per your image It will open in a new tab select 'General' and scroll down to the bottom - see image below If it is selected then uncheck
Whilst in that same area - just above is 'Disk Space' - click on 'Clear Now'
Restart Thunderbird.
If still not working:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- About 8th in list is 'Profile Folder' - click on 'Open Folder' - see image below as guide
A new window opens showing the contents of your profile folder.
- Exit Thunderbird now - this is important
Delete the following files:
- panacea.dat
- session.json
- xulstore.json
Start Thunderbird.
Toad, Won't removing session.json remove existing tabs?
I have a few.
Thanks.
Removing session.json would remove tabs but your issue is not about removing a tab. You have already managed to remove the tabs by deleting that file previously.
I'm not sure why you are unable to close them - I right click and select 'Close tab' or 'Close other tabs'. But I can understand why you wanted to clear the session data.
Resetting a tab is easy to redo even if a bit annoying and if it is a specific email, then make a note before performing all the clearing down.
re :Still get blank tabs w/emails.
but you are talking about blank tabs, so something is squiffy with a setting.
Modified
Toad-Hill,
Tried deleting xulstore.json only.
We'll see.
Toad-Hill,
Deleted all 3 files per your directions after reading all open messages.
We'll see ....

Hi.
Still happens. Only opening one message. Thought it was many. No.
