I downloaded Firefox v61.0 to my new Android phone (Xperia ZX1 Compact). Hate Chrome and use Firefox on my desktop. On some sites I open a web page and the page is larger than the screen displays. This is fine. On Chrome I simply swipe the screen moving my finger from right to left and the rest of the page displays (like scrolling down). In Firefox this doesn't work. Sometimes the site reduces the size of the elements on the web page so it completely fits onto the phone screen. Sometimes not.

Display size is set to default. If I "Request Desktop Site" the entire page is reduced in size until it fits the screen. I don't like this much, but it works, and wonder how I can make Firefox allow scrolling left to right for a page that is too large for the screen like Chrome does. I've tried a number of suggestions on the web, but phones don't seem to be a very good interface for a number of things.

I'm using Android 8.0.0. I have the Ghostery add-on installed, but have disabled it.
