I had to delete a saved password for a website. I had to change the password for that website. Now, I cannot get Firefox to prompt/ask me to save the password for auto-fill next time. I checked all the settings in "Security" options, everything is fine. It is not listed in the "Exemptions" tab.

So what do I do?

Are you using any password add-ons?

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/ Places Maintenance Allows to run Maintenance tasks on the database that drives Places, the bookmarks, and history module behind Firefox.

Open the Add-ons Manager. Locate the add-on and press the Options button. Then press Next on the bottom.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/saved-password-editor/ Saved Password Editor Adds the ability to create and edit entries in the password manager.
