I am using Firefox in a Linux environment with multiple workstations, where I may be logged into more than one workstation at once. The workstations have an auto-mounted home file system such that my home directory (including my Firefox profile directory) are shared.

Because of this, when I try to launch Firefox on a second workstation, I get an error saying "Firefox is already running but is not responding". I have read the support articles about this issue, and other community support threads, but none of them address this use case.

I wish to use the same profile, so that I still have all my bookmarks and such, and have them continue to stay up-to-date. How can I do so in this environment?

I have tried to disable hardware acceleration, refresh firefox, reinstall, and nothing works. It hangs every single time when searching on google or connecting to websites. This really sucks because I have used firefox since the beginning and don't want to have to stop now..

Having a problem with an mp3 content on all sites. In console I can see error: Error Code: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_FATAL_ERR (0x806e0005) Details: Error no decoder found for audio/mpeg

It seems like not a system problem, because I can open and listen an mp3 files in quicktime. And chrome browser also not having any problems playing an mp3 content.

Firefox installed with dmg downloaded from site, but also tried install with brew - same result. The problem occurs in incognito mode too.

Hey, since 2 months firefox started crashing when a video comes to the end. I tried it in troubleshoot mode skipped to min 10:45/10:50 and played. after this 5 sec it just crashed. I noticed it on youtube but tried it on other players and it also happened. Today I also started a video on a other website and it crashed but not when starting youtube videos.

Hello everyone. The calendar add on at the side of my Gmail account does not open after the latest Firefox update (116.0.1), but it does work in troubleshoot mode. Could you please advise? Thank you.

On some webpage, I experience delay response when I trying to search sometime. For example, in Google homepage after typing something or even gibberish the page froze and not responding for about 10 second but the browser is still functioning (meaning I can still move other tabs or open option). Once that 10s delay is over, it responded with my result. And something when I when to search back something again(not in the homepage), more of the time is response back fast like 0.2s but other time the same 10s delay. This problem also happens in some other website but not all in their search bar. I have try in safe mode. disable all my extension, reinstall Mozilla Firefox, check any windows update and such. Also other browser does not have this problem such as chrome and brave. If this problem still persisting then I would such to other browser but prefer not to as I quite fond of Firefox. YouTube videos on Firefox getting slower and jerky. After refreshing Firefox (Settings -> Help -> More troubleshooting information -> Refresh Firefox), it is OK, but only for a short while. Then the problem starts again. Same YouTube videos are running fine with Chrome at the same time.

Intermittently (maybe 1/20 times?), when I try to do a Google search from the URL bar I'll get a tab that doesn't load for about 30 seconds. If I search for the exact same thing in another tab it will load instantly, and if I select the url and press enter it will also load instantly. I am seeing this issue both when entering a search and when selecting text and clicking "Search Google for X".

I found a recommendation on a similar issue to set security.tls.enable_0rtt_data = false in about:config but I have seen no change with that setting.

Why does the Mozilla Firefox snap for Ubuntu keep changing the value of browser.opaqueResponseBlocking away from the default and selected FALSE setting to TRUE? This makes Firefox nearly unusable since the streaming video keeps being cut off when Mozilla Firefox snap for Ubuntu keeps changing the value of browser.opaqueResponseBlocking randomly during use. Firefox 116.0.3 (64-bit) do not paste in whatsapp web and other applications exemple I copy an image and want to past it in whatsapp web nothing but it work in brave browser...

I'm having some issues with Firefox on my Ubuntu system and I'm really hoping someone can help me fix them.

   Problem with Downloads: When I try to download something and click on a link, a new tab opens. But then it immediately closes and nothing downloads.

   Button Issues: Some buttons within Firefox just don't seem to work.

I've tried a few things already:

   Checked for Firefox and Ubuntu updates
   Ran Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode
   No antivirus because I'm on Ubuntu

If anyone has faced similar issues or knows how to fix this, please help!

My M-1 MacBook Pro has been running warm since I installed Firefox 116.0.3 (64-bit).

EtreCheck Pro reports that "plug-in container.app" is a runaway process.

When I show package contents for Firefox, I can see "plug-in container.app" in the MacOS folder.

Will there be an update soon to correct this problem? Firefox is my primary browser. I work in the SaaS industry and have to run a browser 24/7.

Several times over the past couple weeks, I click on a Google search result, look at the page, decide it's not exactly what I'm looking for and go to hit Back. Except it's grayed out! I click and hold on the back button and no history pops up!

Even stranger, when I go to History, the search is there! It's like the link not only opened in a new page, but closed the old one!! Is this Firefox doing this to me, or Google's nasty tracking links? Am I the only one?

In your reply to my previous question, I checked with the Bank... their tech people checked it is coming from the firefox Mozilla side of communications. Firefox is stopping the copying process on my browser. Keeps coming up Error- reset tab or close. Mozilla NEEDS to FIX this Problem immediately. It may be time to give up on Mozilla/FireFox. Been there for years, and now having several issues. Please advise?

i am facing issue with high CPU usage on firefox in completely different process other as visible in task manager than my actual process for firefox. is there something wrong with firefox or my system.

This separate process uses more than 60% of my CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 4600). If I close that process in the task manager nothing happens to my current firefox process and i can use firefox normally.

But everytime this separate process starts my system fans ramp up and CPU temps peaks to 70 degrees celsius. and i have to end that process to make it run normally. Thats a quite annoying process to do every time.

I am able to recreate this separate process by:

1. 1. Plug my system for charging
2. 2. I was working offline and connect to internet

both the times the separate process automatically starts and uses very high amount of CPU. I even left my system for 2 hours to keep that process running and complete whatever it was doing. but nothing happend. It continued to run for 2 hours also.

Please find a solution for this. I have already tried solutions provided in the forum:

• Restarting firefox
• Refreshing Firefox
• Enabling hardware accleration
• Clearing some user profile data
• Completely uninstalling firefox and deleting the residual files then reinstalling etc.

but nothing worked.

I'm running Firefox 116.0.2 on Xubuntu 20.04.6. A day ago, it started loading at startup for no apparent reason. I don't want it to that. It's not my default browser, and it is not selected as such. It is not listed in any startup folders or in application autostart in system settings. I tried the winregister and auto update fixes using about:config, and no joy.

Does anyone have any suggestions? It's past annoying.

Since a few days, it is not possible to copy-and-paste any external text or content into the text field of WhatApp Web on Firefox. It works fine on Chrome. Also text manually copied from a previous WA message can be pasted.

We tried on other PCs with Firefox and Chrome, same situation. So it seems to be a problem of Firefox latest version.
