OK, I DO NOT have to do ANY of the NORMAL tricks to solve this. So, PLEASE do not tell me to reset, or alter anything. IT IS FIREFOX 36 ITSELF at fault. Previous verion was running smoothly. VERY smoothly. After updating to 36, it went downhill quickly. FIRST I am CONSTANTLY getting SERVER NOT FOUND errors, and SECOND the browsing speed is SLOW. Now, these WILL NOT HELP NOR ARE THEY AT ISSUE: Reset Firefox My addons My AV My Firewall My Profile THESE ARE ALL THE EXACT SAME as in previous version. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE is it is now Firefox VERSION 36. Something in 36 is seriously broken. And yes it is the browser itself NOTHING ELSE.
Sorry about all the caps, but I am angry. Previous updates everything was good. But as soon as 36 installed, no longer good. I am now going to see about downgrading to my previous version just so I can surf again in a smooth and wonderful fashion. IF, and it is a BIG if Firefox's NEXT update fixes these issues, I will be happy to upgrade again then. But I am VERY nervous about ever upgrading again. Now, IF there may be a NEW setting you put into 36 that could be screwing up my surfing, PLEASE let me know so I can change it. I will wait for a bit before doing a downgrade.

i was using firefox 35.0.1 and just applied the 36.0 update few hours ago. after that, i was unable to run firefox. when i double clicks on the firefox icon, it bumps out 2 error message. 1 of them is "GetLogicalProcessorInformation ... kernel32.dll" and the other is "unknown exceptional error (0xc06d007e) at 0x7c812a5b"
those are keywords from the message since i am using traditional ver. firefox, not sure if i translate correctly. wonder if i can just return to 35.0.1 and wait until another update fix this problem

For the past few weeks, Firefox's window has been often disappearing out of the blue as if the browser crashed, but the browser's process keeps running in the task manager and I have to kill it to restart it. No crash report is ever generated. This happens often on websites that use Flash such as Youtube, Grooveshark and Imgur. I've disabled hardware acceleration but the crashes still occur. Please help.

Every time I open Firefox and click the restore previous session button at the bottom nothing happens. That's the first part of the problem. Next, when I click on my history and click restore previous session, it does so but opens them all in a new window. It was only 3-4 days ago that this started happening. I would like to change what ever is causing this back to how it was as it is quite annoying when I have pinned tabs and I have to keep re-pinning them. I am running the Developer version of Firefox.
When I'm filling in the form on a website Firefox jumps down past the next block and I have to go back using my mouse cursor

For example on Find-A-Grave when filling in the form to add a memorial there are several blocks that you fill in including location. For some blocks you type in the information and others are pick one of the preset selections. I generally hit the tab key on my keyboard and goes to the next block except when it comes to the preset selection blocks. If I use the tab key to go to the next selection it skips right past the next selection to the selection below that. For example, after I fill in the year I hit the tab key and type u for the United States under the country selection. But in order to get the next block to appear I have to hit tab again (but only when using your browser). Your browser then skips past the state selection to the county selection. Then when I pick the state using the cursor it does it again and drops down to the Bio past the county selection.
When I use Internet Explorer I don't have this problem. I merely hit the tab button on my keyboard and it goes to the next selection rather than as your browser does that is skips to the block below.
Is there some reason you have it set up this way because it is quite annoying to have to go back up each time using the mouse cursor rather than continuing to use the keyboard to fill in everything (typing, tab key or using the arrow keys). To say the least it slows the whole process down a lot. No, it is not my computer. I've had the exact same problem using another computer. No, it is not the find-a-grave website. I just used it as an example. Using your browser forces me to stop using the keyboard to fill in a form and use the mouse and then the keyboard and then the mouse and then the keyboard and then the mouse, etc when it shouldn't be necessary when filling out a form on a website.

Every time I close FF it will close but next time I try to open it, it gives the message "firefox is already running but not responding. To open a new window you need to end previous process". I klick okay. Then it gives a message "plugin container not working". After choosing "close the program" FF starts again. FF is also very slow, and YouTube vids don't start sometimes too giving an error but not always. Also it doesn't let me to open it in safe mode or refresh it and crashes often.
Here is last crash report:

I just updated to Firefox 36.0, and I have the same problem as http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1036130 , although in addition to that I've lost my search engines and tiles. As far as I know this problem didn't occur until after I'd updated and then quit Firefox and opened it again later. But I could be wrong; in fact, before I noticed this problem, I did notice I couldn't save bookmarks. This is still the case.
I still have all my extensions, settings, passwords, etc. As far as I know the only things affected are bookmarks, history (including download history), tiles, and search engines. They're just empty.
Restarting does not change anything. In fact, it doesn't even have my history from the last session since the problem started! It's like it's just not saving anything at all. Update: It's come to my attention that while the back button works, I cannot pull down the history in it, and the forward button never appears at all. It's like it's literally just not saving a single thing.
I checked my profile: The places.sqlite file is there, and there is a bookmarkbackups folder; the search.sqlite file is not there, but the searchplugins folder is; there is no sessionstore.js file, but there is a sessionstore-backups folder with the files previous.js, recovery.bak, recovery.js, and several upgrade.js files; formhistory.sqlite is there.

Problem noticed since last week: boxy areas of pixels less than 1" sq flicker rapidly or stay white in Firefox windows, in a horizontal row maybe 7 inches from top of the window, generally maintaining the same pattern. At first I thought my monitor was going bad, but (a) the clusters do not appear so far in any other application and (b) they move exactly in synch with the Firefox window, on either my laptop screen or the attached second monitor. (Hmm - as I write this I notice a couple of other patches flickering at the top of the Firefox window, over the leftmost tab; the lower problem areas now appear stable.)
They occur - so far as I can tell, which is difficult unless the window is mostly dark - during internet actions such as requesting or receiving a new page, sometimes just with mouse motion, or sometimes with no activity on my part, generally lasting only a second or so but soon recurring.
The attached screen capture ("Screen shot 2015-02-23 at 4.59.05 PM.png") shows 4 examples of this - to the left of the "Christ at Emmaus" caption, obscuring most of the "Ephraim Bonus..." thumbnail, a lighter area just a bit to the right of that thumbnail, and part of an even lighter specimen at the edge of the Firefox window. (So far the "uploaded images" box displays only a rotating work-in-progress circle, so I can't tell if that image will upload along with this message... this may be because I had the image open in Preview at the time I clicked the upload button, but I see no way to abort and restart the process.)

Hi The mulipart/form-data request is breaking with upgrade to Firefox 36. Says authenticity of the recieved data couldn't be verified.
The other part of the website seems to work fine just the multipart/form-data request is failing on upload.
On server side we have a CISCO ACE load balancer ACE 4710 DM Web Version A4(2.3) which has the certificates installed.
The multipart request was working with Firefox Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0.
Can you point us to the right direction as to why this is failing. The application is mission critical for us.

Hi. Recently, I've been having huge problems with FireFox. It all started yesterday when it updated (not sure what version the update was, because I usually never pay attention to that stuff). When I opened up FireFox it would never load the pages. All I would see is 'Connecting' and the animation next to it. Next, after about 5-10 minutes of nothing but loading, it would then crash. Then it would load up the crash report. I click on 'Send Report' and then it crashes. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but the installer loaded up and never did anything. I waited an hour, and still nothing. Any help is appreciated! :)

The new Thunderbird worked fine this morning on my dev machine, but FF36 (took the upgrade when offered last night, today's the first day out) can't find google. (Network equipment works fine, and seeing as I'm typing this from my non-dev machine my net is unlikely to be the problem.)
Went to a public terminal and read the support notes, got some dev in, etc. Came back here and have implemented the re-exception policy on the dev machine as best I'm able: 1) I'm running WinXP, and AFAIK am not able to update as MS would prefer I waste money on a new OS. So stuck with the windows firewall.
2) I have old versions of FF on the dev machine. After a bit of experimentation--went into the program directory and found the executable was last updated last night--I struck FF from the exception list altogether, and re-added (and enabled) it, as directed. FF was not operating at the time.
3) After thusly re-creating the exception and restarting FF, it continues to be unable to find google, or mozilla for that matter. Request: include a support IRC/e-mail/etc contact in the Help/About, so we don't need to have a working browser to get help getting the browser working.
4) I run AVG but have not enabled its firewall (I'm using the free 2014 version, continuing to update it as needed. Why screw around with another EULA??). I also run Malwarebytes but do not believe that it has any sort of firewall or other blocking component. I was able to update Malwarebytes without problems on my dev machine, as well as execute Git console commands. I was *not* able to connect to IRC via ChatZilla; not a complete surprise, but a Just In Case check.
Be advised that the version/OS/plugins info is NOT representative of that on the machine suffering the problem, as I'm unable to get that machine here thanks to the can't find anything failure.

Ok guys, this one is a bit more complicated than it sounds. A while back I was using a older version of Fox, I think v 15.xxx and had flash player 11 or 12. When using youtube it looked great. But now I upgraded to the latest firefox and latest flash player. When I watch vids on youtube they look real blurry and pixelated until the 720 hd kicks in. And even then it doesn't look as good and with the older flash player. I checked and my nvidia card doesn't seem to have any effect on either program. Is this a legit problem and which flash player version should I switch back to??

Hello Community of Users I actually want help from the experts; and with my question everything is said. As I wrote: I returned to version 35.01 (US - before I had a German version - both worked or work) for the time being; with 36.0 almost everything is fine except that I cannot download videos any more.
The " educated guesses" seem to be correct except for the Shockwave; at least I couldn´t find it in the list.
Oh, I forgot: I got a message from my firewall when I had downloaded version 36, stating that it had blocked some features of this app, then listing those features, but giving the possibility to grant access to them ("Zugriff zulassen") on which I clicked. - See uploaded screenshot.
Any idea where the problem could be?

This morning I updated to Firefox 36. All seems well on certain pages, but I am noticing periodic long lags as some of my own websites load. I have done the "reset firefox" and went through the whole process retaining only my permissions.sqlite and cookies.sqlite. Then I began the re-adding of the three extensions I have:
Expire History By Days
When I had "rebuilt" everything I tried the same trying again and kept finding the same lag. I do delete cache (only) on exit. I have no malware or viruses on my box (it is also a server). With 35.01 I did not have this problem, but with 36 it remains. So I believe I have done everything necessary to make 36 correct, however the problem remains. On was with a YaBB bulletin board which loads in about a second in 35.01 but spins for several seconds before loading on 36. The other is a simple site for one of my clients which should load fast. I ran speed tests on both of these sites and they did not show anything unusual.
The Uri's in question are: http://www.wisearch.com/wcwcwboard/YaBB.pl (speed test a shows 891 microseconds) For me it "spun" for about 5+ seconds. and http://www.glytek.com/ (speed test shows 276 microseconds) Same Lag as above.
I got tired of this and did a reversion via windows restore on the two application data folders and the main program files Mozilla Firefox. Essentially, I am now back on 35.01 and unless something enlightening occurs I guess I am off the "update" boat.
It's too bad...I had been waiting for 36 and was downloading it before it was even showing up on the Mozilla Release Notes page (it is now showing up): https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/
