Hello Mozilla, How do I permanently remove Google Trending Search from Firefox? May I ask: Please do not make such changes without obvious explicit warning? This is a time consuming nightmare. Regards Andrew

How to remove google search from the address bar on the right?????

I want to find my most visited websites in the address bar without any unnecessary actions!!!

The title says it all. I use Firefox on my home computer with Windows 10, and my work laptop using Windows 11. At home, URLs do not autocomplete when typing them in--settings are all on for this to work properly, and it used to work properly, but it does not work at all. At work, URLs complete just fine.

When a system-wide VPN application (not built into Firefox) is enabled, the behavior of the address bar changes: on the first click, it only shows 5 sites (Top Sites), instead of the usual 9. After pressing the Spacebar, the list from browsing history loads normally. The problem persists after turning off the VPN and only disappears after a full restart of Firefox. The issue is reproducible. Firefox version: the latest

Hi! I recently had to reinstall Firefox. Logged into the same Mozilla account I've been using for several years, with pretty much the same config files I've been using since I switched to Linux, and suddenly--for the first time in at least a year--Firefox has (again) started trying to "fix" searches I put into the address bar that aren't prefaced with a search engine. How do I turn this off? (For example, if I go to the address bar and type in "cats" I get directed to a page like the first attached screenshot. If I type in "@google cats" I get directed to the second attached screenshot...)

I'm pretty sure I've disabled everything in prefs.js that relates to that. Um. Feature? But clearly I haven't been able to disable it yet! So.

I have Firefox, then suddenly it switched over to Google.... a little google icon has appeared in the search window ... it drives me crazy... I have google news (absolute BS). How can I permanently remove google from my PC and LIFE? Please help...

My Firefox is not showing search suggestions/autocomplete when I search for a term in the search bar. First screenshot is what I see, second screenshot is from Chrome. Third screenshot is my settings.

I would like to continue using Firefox, but this is extremely infuriating.

So, I configured the suggestions in the search bar so that nothing from my history/previous searches is displayed (see attached image with current settings). However, suggestions from my past searches still continue to appear. I would like only the autocomplete suggestions from my search engine to appear (I'm using Kagi). I already tried to delete my browsing history (Crtl + Shift + Delete - Everything, browsing and download history), it deleted everything but my past searches... Can somebody help me?

When I type map into address bar, maps.app.goo.gl becomes the autofill. I'd want to delete it. However, shift-delete does not take effect. I checked history and did not find it.

How can I delete it?

Wie kann diese Auswalliste bearbeitet werden? Ich verstehe im Moment noch nicht, wie die Liste gefüllt wird. Ich habe beispielsweise NIUS nur 1x aufgerufen - und schon ist die Website in der Liste. Websites, die ich viel öfter besuche, tauchen dort aber nicht auf. Was kann ich tun? Danke für die Hilfe.

In the search bar (I’m not sure about its official name), my previous searches used to appear as suggestions before Google’s own suggestions. However, since I changed my default search engine from Google US to Google UK, it no longer seems to remember the searches I make. I’ve tried switching back to Google US, but that didn’t restore the behavior. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

For example, I previously searched for “things to see in Latvia”, which is why it appears as a suggestion in the screenshot. But if I now search for “things to see in Louvre Museum” and then try the same search again a few hours or days later, it isn’t saved and therefore doesn’t appear as a suggestion.

"Magically" started working again for unknown reasons.

Up until this morning I could enter calculations in the search bar or the address bar and get an answer without hitting "Enter". Why has this stopped working?

FF 146.0.1 LM 21.3, Bitwarden, Ublock Origin and Dark Reader extensions active.

Edit: browser.urlbar.suggest.calculator is set to TRUE.

With the latest update, some of the shortcuts that appear when I click on the address bar have changed. Now several of them are for websites that I don't use on a regular basis. Is there any way to remove them? Is there any way to add back shortcuts for sites that I do use on a regular basis?

When searching from the search bar how do I make it to where YouTube doesn't come up as an option for when I'm looking for a video? How do I block YouTube from my search

I have a drop-down list on a website of things I regularly search for, but alas, some of them contain typos and I'd like to be able to re-order them. How can I do this on Firefox 146.0 (64 bit) under Linux?

When I open a website from a shortcut in my desktop (Win Pro 25H2) the link works perfectly and the site opens. However, a dropdown box opens from the address bar and displays all the URL of every page I've visited within that site. I can click on the site page (away from the dropdown list) and the the dropdown list then closes. Is there a way to turn this annoying thing off?
