Hi everyone,

I'm used to typing one or two letters into the address bar and then the down arrow to access the same handful of websites every day. A few weeks ago, Firefox started randomly moving these around so that the same letters that have always made it open the same URL now opens a different URL and I have to actually search the suggestions. How can this annoying behaviour be fixed?

(a few months ago, the address bar wouldn't delete entries, but this problem vanished as mysteriously as it appeared)

Hello All, Hulu tells me I must pause my Ad Blocker to watch a show. I click Turn off add blocker, but it just keeps re-directing me to out-of-date, unrelated community discussions. Can anyone help me? Thanks to All.

You can't roll out an update when Basos is on an all out ad war with adblocker and make non-backwards incompatible changes. this is ridiculous.

I have lost all faith in updating the browser and will continue to stay on my current version since it took me a considerable amount of time to get my adblockers working again.

Very often, recently, I can't communicate with an organization via their form on the WWW internet. After minutes of frustration, I change to a Chrome or Safari browser on my Mac, and it works just fine.

One of the problems is when filling out a form, Firefox says over and over there is an error. Safari takes that same data just fine, no error.

There are others, but I'll have to wait until Firefox fails again since it's not that easy to reproduce what happened days or weeks ago!

Firefox is my default browser. Up until a few months ago, if I clicked a link in an Outlook email, it took me to Firefox and opened the site. Now it takes me to Microsoft Edge.

At the same time, another problem arose, albeit minor. When I am using Firefox and attempt to email a link, there is a message, "Navigation failed" and a blank screen appears. This is not a big problem, since when I open Outlook the email is waiting to be sent. But this too smacks of something Microsoft is doing to sabotage the competition. I do not know how I got there, but I somehow got into a situation where I could push a button 'Refresh', or in Dutch 'Opfrissen'. Firefox then started to remove settings and extensions. Which is all well documented if you know it. But the user interface is just crap here. Especially in Dutch. Because 'opfrissen' is something that sounds totally innocent in my native language. I at most expected it to remove some cache memory. The last thing I expect pushing a button with that name is that it does what it did, without any warning! PLEASE change that. And please do not translate it with 'opfrissen', just explicitly say: Go back to standard configuration and remove extensions. I am not dumb that I could not understand what that should do. Opfrissen.... Pfff, please change at least the translation!

And I got really angry when it happened!

I have set up a new Microsoft Surface pro 7 with fresh Win11 23h2 and office installation.

The latest Firefox 122.0.1 has been downloaded.

Problem:

When i sign in to my Microsoft 365 account for the first time everything goes smooth and get all authentication steps.

BUT

1. I never reach the Microsoft 365 page and return back to Microsoft log in page

"https://www.office.com/?trysignin=0"

2. if I insist in Trying I get in a loop and i get the error message "AADSTS50196 authentication error,"

3. I have tried to clean Cookies cash. The only difference now is that i do not get in that indefinite loop but i have to reenter the sign in credentials and again reach the log in screen.

4. I have entered the office.com, Microsoft.com, hotmail.com as trusted sites but problem same

5. No issues in that particular Surface pro to sign in Microsoft 365 site via edge

6. No issues to sign in Microsoft 365 in my other computers via Mozila. It happens to that particular surface new installation

Any help/Troubleshooting will be appreciated

I am one among many who keep a lot of windows open for reference. When my compootie shuts down inadvertantly I am avle to use "Restore Session" to get these back. But occasionally the system shuts down and I am unable to restore anything, and this can cost me tens of hours os referencing, and untold hours of productivity.

Could you save the open windows in an easily accessible file that we could use to restore previous sessions? This would save a lot of us considerable grief.

I suspect that a recent Microsoft update changed the default browser on my computer from Firefox to Microsoft Edge so everything now opens in Edge instead of Firefox.

When I checked in Firefox Settings I saw that Firefox was supposedly still the default browser. I hoped that by re-selecting Firefox as the default it would take things back to the way I liked them (Firefox as default), but I'm still stuck with everything opening in Edge and am very unhappy about that. I like the greater privacy of using Firefox, and I prefer the way it works.

How can I disable or completely get rid of Edge and get back to Firefox as default browser? I don't like being spied on, and I don't like having my choices disabled and being forced to do something I didn't choose.

If someone can help I would appreciate it greatly but in replying, please bear in mind that I'm a 76-year-old retired carpenter more familiar with hammers than with computers.

Hello, I am writing this as I have yet to find any answers

My problem lies in the fact that while browsing on YouTube the ratio suddenly changed with no warning. When in a private window it does not change the ratio and I have no idea as to why. I have tried to restart both FireFox and my computer, but none of this have helped, I then tried disabling all my extensions, this also did not help, and as I have yet to find anything about this problem elsewhere I hope that I could get my answer as to why this has happened, and how to fix it

The first picture is the ratio that is the "normal" and the second is should be, does anyone have any answers?

Also, I just wanted to restore the Basic Toolbar- that mysteriously disappeared. There was no option for that under the hamburger & more tools. Instead I now have a 3rd toolbar because of the customization options -- & I don't know how to get rid of that/ It appears UNDER my tabs bar.

I got a popup tab with a very dated UI about an urgent Firefox update involving a flash player. It told me to click allow installation or something like that I don't remember exactly. Once I clicked the allow button there was a popup and a green arrow pointing to the popup in the top right. I clicked it and it said to click "add" next. I realized this is probably a scam and did not add it. I'm assuming that add was referring to something about extensions or plugins but I checked those and there wasn't anything I already knew I had. I did a virus scan and it got nothing. The popup appeared alongside a Minecraft Skindex download. I did some research and learned it is malware and comes in many different forms. The add popup referenced something called auto ads off. Did I stop the malware by not clicking add and if not how do I remove it.

I have Ooma as my phone provider. I can't get into Ooma's login site because I get this message at every try:

"The page isn't redirecting properly"

I occasionally get this message when opening Firefox, but a retry always works. Not when trying to get into my Ooma account. And yet it works without any problem on Safari. I would prefer to use Firefox.
