Disabling acceleration removes artifacts, but videos runs poorly. These artifacts also appears in regular browsing. Intel GPU on latest driver. Since it works in Chrome with the same GPU on the same driver, the problem is in Firefox. Artifacts not there when running Furmark gfx burn in. So problem is not in the hardware. Problem still persistent even on numerous updates of Firefox. Windows 11, Intel HD Graphics 620 GFX, latest driver, latest Firefox.

So I just picked up a new laptop (ASUS Vivobook 16x), and everything is fresh on it. Additionally, this only affects some video content in Firefox, with Edge browser unaffected. In brief, what is happening is that within a couple hours of having the browser open, certain video content stops working, specifically Twitter/X videos just spin, YouTube previews stop working, and videos continually load. Netflix videos continue to work, but hover previews stop functioning. I even check the 'Stats for Nerds' on YT and it shows 0 KB network activity in Firefox.
I've tried every basic action I can think of:
Only by doing a refresh or completely closing/opening the app gets videos to function again. This doesn't affect the old laptop or my desktop, which makes me think it's a rogue driver--but then why would Edge function without error over the same period of time?
Are there any settings to play with in the browser that can help diagnose?

I had Firefox 120.1 on a Windows 11 Pro 23H2 system and everything was fine, then today Firefox updated itself to version 122 and all my bookmarks / settings and saved passwords disappeared. When I went to the bookmark manager there were no backups to restore but when I searched the C: drive for "Bookmarks*.json*" I found dozens in the profile that Firefox is currently using (about:porfile shows my default and there is only one profile on the computer) and I copied the most recent one from a couple days ago and used the bookmark manager to restore it. However I've lost all my saved passwords and I absolutely need to get those back, how can I do that?

I do genealogy and often have 20 or more WINDOWS (not tabs) open simultaneously. I also rapidly type, copy/paste, between windows, etc. and can instantly detect slowdowns - especially irksome when the mouse disappears for seconds while the system is working. I keep history and cookies...reminds me of pages I've already looked at when color change is enabled. After crashing a hard drive, I finally realized that Firefox was accessing the disk WAY too much. Even with the system static (no page changes or updates), it was continually writing to disk. Occasionally, it would take over the disk system for seconds. Over time (years), as you guys improved, it became less significant; just broken up into lots and lots of small accesses. Researched quite a bit...
Started with increasing the sessionstore interval, but still was an issue.
To solve MOST of the problem, I saw a help note. I created and set to FALSE
browser.sessionstore.enabled
Plus modified several other sessionstore items This helped a lot...
BUT this did NOT regulate sqlite storage for third-party stuff.
This is probably handled and hidden under another config section/ keyword (not called 'sessionstore', but '??thirdpartystore??' or what?) The following profile files are still handling a LOT of writes. I use Ancestry as example (the worst offender actually), but applies to other sites also.
.default-release\storage\default\https+++www.ancestry.com\ls\data.sqlite-journal ... or occasionally \https+++accounts.google.com ...
Just for these accesses, looking at 100k writes every second, like pulses. This is with only one window open and a static (no change) page. What changes on a genealogy page that requires updating every second = this is a list of dead people?? Finally, my question(s): What config sections and "keywords" handle these third party writes? Any clue/hint on how to eliminate?

My system: AMD 3900X Running Windows 10 Home, Nvidia GTX950 graphics card, 32 GB memory, The image is a reduced-size screenshot from a 1920 x 1080 monitor. Adjusting the width of the window for Friefox has no effect on the problem.

When I restart my Windows 11 Asus ProArt PC or my browsers reopen, the positions of my tabs will shift around. Sometimes the last open tab will move into position one from wherever it was. Other times the repositionings seems random. I had an issue where I needed to reboot 3 times and in one of 4 windows a huge chunk of tabs repositioned in reverse order. I want certain tabs aligned next to others for my workflow. This doesn't happen all of the time if I have been in a window but it happens more often than not.
I have my browsers set up with Tab Session Manager to open one tab next to another. I also made a change a while ago to where if I type in a different website within a tab it will open within that tab instead of opening a new one. I only open a new tab if I want to.
I also find that despite having different sites having been opened in the same tab once I come back to a new session the previous tabs I'd opened there are gone and only the new one remains. That is less of a problem than tabs simply repositioning themselves wherever they choose. But if that is a clue to what is going on, there it is.

when i try to log on to my USAA bank accounts.
Tech support at the bank worked with me for an hour. We changed password, cleared the cache for the bank's apps, restarted Firefox, restarted the computer, all to no avail. I declined to try Google, simply because i don't trust it. Tech support person said another bank customer had had same problem and just changed browsers, which i don't want to do.

Hello fellow Firefox users, I sadly cannot use my Firefox (120.0.1, 64 bits, Windows 10) anymore as it is too slow to show a webpage... It's so slow, that I initially thought that I have no internet connexion at all on Firefox.
Can anyone help me figuring why my Firefox profile is so slow ?
Long story short:
- Until 2023-12-05, my Firefox was working normally.
My parameters were "No HTTPS everywhere" and "No DNS over HTTPS (DoH)".
- On 2023-12-05, I was connected to an entreprise DNS (Mangling DNS).
I cannot acces some website because of their local policy, so I changed my DNS parameters. I choose to use DoH with Cloudflare instead of the given DNS. Internet worked perfectly.
- On 2023-12-06 and 2023-12-07, same parameters, Internet worked perfectly on another network. - Since 2023-12-08, Internet is very slow. It need about 1.5 minute to get start.duckduckgo.com loading on any network.
I thought it will not load at all (timeout ?). Others webrowsers (e.g. : Microsoft Edge) are correctly working. The "ping google.com" command is working normaly on windows with 2ms delay. The DNS on windows "Get-DnsClientServerAddress" are the normal DNS of the router. Even with reverting the DoH parameter to off, I do not get back my web browsing speed.
Troubleshooting :
- It's slow with "DoH and Cloudflare" activated.
It's slow on my home network. It's slow on a public network. It's slow on another private network. https://www.dnsleaktest.com gives me a list of Cloudflare DNS (IPv4) near me, different from the DNS (IPv6) used by Windows 10. Meanwhile, Microsoft Edge, ping and wget/curl are working normally (i.e. no delay). Noticably, Microsfot Edge use by default according to https://www.dnsleaktest.com the same Cloudflare DNS.

The program oppened succesfully start.duckduckgo.com . This website was choosen as it is an allowed website on every DNS. Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-06-02 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-09-03 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-10-20 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-11-12 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-11-24 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-11-30 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-12-03 : good, show a message saying more or less "Nightly started with no extension" Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 2023-12-04 : good Firefox nightly (mozilla-central) 775ade8b : good Firefox nightly (autoland) 87d12c4b : good Firefox nightly (autoland) ba8757a7 : good
- Firefox 120.0.1 is saying that it is up-to-date.
And as of today, it is.
- I do have some extensions (12 activated) on my Firefox, so I try without extension.
It worked but I do not understand why!
* New profile. Using "firefox.exe -profile" I created another clean profile to see.
It worked.
According to https://www.dnsleaktest.com, my new empty profile uses both Cloudflare DNS (IPv4) and the router DNS from the ISP.
Adding one-by-one most of extensions (6 now) to this new profile do not break yet my Firefox speed.
* Safe Mode. Using "firefox.exe -safe-mode" I have started my corrupt profile without extension, JIT, etc...
It worked.
According to https://www.dnsleaktest.com, it uses only the router DNS (IPv4).
- I can send some result from about:support if needed, but it kills privacy...
Conclusion :
I do not understand why my main Firefox profile is not working correctly. I do not see strange things when troubleshooting. Nothing makes sense.
May someone help me figuring out?
