Since a week or two my Firefox tabs are crashing more and more often. At work on MacBook and at home on PC.

Deleting the cache and cookies and even starting in Safe Mode are not helping - in fact while writing this very message had 5 crashes meanwhile!

Task Manager detail line can be expanded to show multiple open tabs, and I can sort display by CPU but that doesn't help me identify WHICH SPECIFIC tab is using high CPU. Are there any tools to help me quickly identify (and perhaps End) such high CPU tabs/processes? Thanks!

I was a former IT person for decades and used Firefox because I love it. But lately, it isn't usable for me. Seemingly happened out of nowhere within the past few weeks.

I tried all the troubleshooting steps in the guides on your support forum, but nothing worked. So I tried the following:

1. Uninstalled Firefox using Windows Uninstaller 2. Deleted every single Mozilla folder from within the user profile to the program files folders, local roaming folders, etc. - EVERYTHING. 3. Went into the Windows Registry and also deleted Mozilla folders within the local machine and current user folders. 4. Rebooted computer 5. Went to Getfirefox.com and reinstalled Firefox. 6. Logged into a brand spanking new Firefox installation

Still SLOW as molasses. Frustrating. I can't work. It is literally 4x slower than any other browser now. I use Firefox for 90% of my web stuff, the other browsers 10% of the time for testing. But as it goes now, I cannot use Firefox anymore after decades of using it.

Anything else I can try? Maybe I missed something when I scrubbed it and reinstalled? Why suddenly is it this slow? Any ideas?

I will try next to log into a different Windows profile I guess and see if that improves it. Maybe my Windows profile is jacked up, although, I thought removing all Mozilla folders from within my Windows profile would be enough, so I am not so sure that will fix it. I will try though.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

My Firefox is having some problems relating to audio.

If I open a YouTube video, the image will play but there's no sound, on Twitter also, and so on. On YouTube Music the player won't even start, giving the error "An error occurred. Please try again later." I noticed that the stereo icon that shows up in the tab, which allow you to mute the tab, won't show up when I'm playing a video on YouTube, Twitter, Vimeo, and so on.

Only Firefox has no sound, it's not muted in the Volume Mixer, neither in the app volume settings in Windows. I've followed everything suggested here here and here.

I think the problems may have started after I reinstalled my graphic card driver, but I'm not sure since I don't use this computer very often. I have a Windows 10 and my graphic card is a Nvidia GT 630, and the driver version is 474.44.

I am currently facing an issue where videos on websites other than YouTube are not playing. This problem is occurring on browsers like Firefox, Brave, and Opera, but interestingly, videos are working fine on Chrome. I have tried various solutions over the past 2 years, including removing extensions, using private mode, installing web media extensions and codec packs, but nothing has resolved the problem. I am using Windows 10. I would appreciate any insights into why Chrome is able to play videos while other browsers are not, and I'm specifically looking for solutions beyond the usual suggestions like removing extensions or using private mode.

when I view a stock quote in Google Finance If I move my Windows cursor into the price chart and move the chart cursor to a new date or time the tab will hang. I can no longer move the chart cursor. Reloading the tab will no longer work. I have to delete the tab and then use History to reload it. There is no problem as long as I keep the Windows cursor out of the stock chart area.

I am running Windows 11 up to date and Firefox 116.02. This has been a problem for a long time.

West Virginia has a website to download old death certificates, but they wont load. There's nothing but a blank page. I'm not positive that it's a Firefox problem, as a friend of mine who uses IE cant load them either, however, she CAN load them on her Tablet. As a historian, I really need to get these records for my research, so I was wondering if someone could go to the site and see of the records appear for them to be downloaded. Some of the scripts are not loading or working properly, like clicking boxes and notifications on some sites. Most recently this happened on the New Statesman website, I doubt they haven't optimized their site for Firefox. Previously I encountered this on Gerogetown University's Management System platform, which according to IT should be fine with Firefox. I removed all the extensions, cleared the cache and cookies, tried troubleshooting mode, even reinstalled Firefox to no avail. I accept all cookies. Settings are default. The issue is specific to Firefox, Edge works fine. Please help, I don't want to migrate back to Edge.

If I go to https://media.telstra.com.au/home.mobile.android.html using Firefox and then click on the "Webmail" button, I'm taken to https://email.telstra.com/login from which I am unable to log-in.

However, if I do the same using Safari as a browser, I'm taken to a page entitled myid.telstra.com (with a lock symbol in front of it), from which I CAN log-in.

Can anyone offer an explanation. Note, this situation with Firefoix kind of happened overnight some period ago - I had been successfully logging in using Firefox for months/years befoe hand.

Google sponsored links (those on top of a Google search for a product) not working in Firefox, works in Chrome and Edge. The example link below uses googleadservices.com, which appears to be the problem. When trying to load that link, Firefox does nothing. The same link plugged into either Chrome or Edge works fine. This is a REAL PITA!

Ever since the latest FF update each time I start/re-start FF I need to resignin to Dashlane. Honestly this hasn't happened in over 20 years. I haven't been able to find any similar reports. Has and/or can anyone explain why and hopefully provide an answer/work around? Thanks anyone/everyone.

I am developing an Angular App which uses a web-socket for backend communication. Interestingly, whenever I open the app in firefox (localhost:4200) the navigation bar breaks. I can't change the URL manually anymore, but every time I submit a changed URL it first redirects to the specified page but then immediately overwrites the navigation with the previous URL.

Example:

1. Call http://localhost:4200/
2. Sometimes the first additional navigation works, but afterwards all manual changes using the address bar will result in the behavior shown in the below image.

Steps I have taken to narrow down the error cause:

• I ruled out a device specific issue, since the problem occurs on both my machines.
• It is specific to firefox, since both edge and chrome work perfectly fine
• I don't think it is related to the angular router and the way I use it, since it would be quite weird that a website could force a user to stay on it.
• It is not related to the Angular CLI since the error also occurs when I deploy the angular with nginx.

I haven't found any hints on what might cause this behavior or even how to debug the network traffic further to maybe see what is causing the navigation override.

I reinstall my windows 11 yesterday and since I cannot log in office. I go through the identification process, then once done I am back to the sign in page.

On chatGPT, when I go to login, I got the error message "We ran into an issue while signing you in, please take a break and try again soon."

Both websites were working fine last week. Also on the same computer I can access these websites using chrome. I tried to clear the cache and the cookies, disable extensions (ublock + cuberghotVPN), lowering security options like disable DNS security and disable tracking security, I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but I can't fix this issue.

I am a bit out of ideas to try. Anything else I can do to get access back to these websites?

Attempting to attach any file crashes the browser - Version 116.0.2 (64-bit)

Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

Any website. File explorer window doesn't even appear. It just crashes instantly.

Basically If i search for a term in the address bar such as "Cheese" and press enter. Then it'll hang for awhile, and not do anything. But If I press enter again, it'll show the google page result for cheese.

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue, because chrome doesn't do this.

Running Windows 11 on a Dell XPS 8930. Internet download speed is 100Mb/sec. With every update of Firefox it seems to take longer and longer to launch Firefox and load open windows and tabs. Several minutes of the back and forth ball on each tab. I can launch Chrome and its windows and tabs load almost immediately. What can I do to improve Firefox performance, short of abandoning it?

Hi, with reference to the above subject, the Tumblr, outlook and other sites do not display photos/ text, operate properly etc. All these applications work fine on other devices, Apple ios. The firefox has been restarted several times and also pc as well. No new installation or any other major change has been done. Thanks
