Firefox can't establish connection, I can't get to Yahoo mail/Hotmail or some of the other pages I go to.Yet it can load facebook,or another page. What is going on with Firefox?

I have been trying to get on the internet since 7:30 am, Facebook will load slowly. The radio station web site will load. Nothing else will load, I can not get onto google, gmail,yahoo,hotmail. My school's web page. I keep getting this; Unable to connect 

  Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at us.f624.mail.yahoo.com.

I also just updated Firefox hoping it will help. It did not help.
