What happens when you double click on the Firefox icon?

HI Paul Thanks for your reply. I have managed to solve the problem , it was my lack of tec knowledge and the brain worn out due to old age.

Recent download of Firefox for my MacBook opened to a new screen with "Profiles"; after I figured out that I could just click on the left (black) one it opened as usual.

After restarting a few days later the "Profile" window did not happen and I only had one option from the menu – Quit

I tried downloading (147.0) again and still only had Firefox appear on the menu with the only option being Quit.

I saw something about a version being rolled out and tried to download that version (140.7.1est) but that did not open either.

One time in the process I got the "profile" screen again, but clicking did not open Firefox either.

I recently upgraded my MacBook Air IOS to Sequoia 15.7.4
