Firefox on Linux: unresponsive after few keystrokes in "new tab" search bar.

This is repeatable every time.

Firefox on Ubuntu 16.04. Updated. Extensions are only Adblock Plus and Lastpass, no others.

Click + for new tab. Click mouse in search bar in screen. Type something.

After first 4-5 characters, typing freezes, Firefox becomes unresponsive, hangs for about 60 seconds, then comes back to normal. Sometimes hangs again if you type more. Search engine is Google.

I've already tried: removing all "auto-suggest" for Google, removing Google's auto-complete. No effect. Flash is set to ask before starting.
