Opening a pdf in a new tab from a link within an <iframe> -embedded pdf!

By default, Firefox opens such a link in the same <iframe>. If I open such a link with <shift> <right mouse> <actual frame> <open frame in a new tab> it opens the pdf in a new tab. If I then directly click again on the pdf-link, it opens the pdf in the same tab - ok, but not ideal. My question is: Is there a way to configure this behavior, so that I could either jump directly from my <iframe> -embedded pdf-link to a new tab, or open a new webpage in a new tab? (In this case I couldn't use the <target="_blank> option) I'm guessing a way to configure might be in about:config <pdf> or in the pdf-File with an option like #page=3 - but I don't know a new tab option in the adobe-world.
