i type in my mozilla browser, not any portion of it, url, email programs, etc. I uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla, still not working. Other browsers are fine

Suddenly, I cannot type anywhere in Mozilla browser. It was fine yesterday. Other browsers (chrome and explorer) are fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled mozilla. this made no difference.

I also noticed that refreshing my earthlink email opens a new window, which never happened before and also does not happen in the other browsers.

One solution on a message board noted a program (add-on?) called PC Keeper as the culprit. I checked for that in the programs and did not find it. There were not any other programs that had been added to the program roster recently.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.
