Make sure you aren't blocking javascript

Thanks for the response, But - NOT a security/windows infection issue. Javascript is enabled. I have two different machines now that I've updated both with same problem - many links won't work - clicking on them doesn't work but if I choose open url in new tab they do. The links work in all other browsers on all machines EXCEPT Firefox - AND even when I start Firefox in Safemode/no extenstions.
Please do the following so we can get environment variables and other data:
- Use ONE of these methods to open the Firefox Troubleshooting Information page:
- Click the menu button , click on help and select Troubleshooting Information.
- Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press the enter key.
- At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
- Now, go back to your forum post, right-click in the reply box and select Paste from the context menu (or else click inside the reply box and press the Ctrl+V keys) to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

Does a middle-click on the link work to open the link in a new tab if you currently are left-clicking?
You can check this pref on the about:config page.

For links opened via JavaScript you can look at this pref:
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
