Will a 'Firefox refresh' delete my personalised link folders which I have created & added to my toolbar over the years?

I have, over the years, created little blue folders on my toolbar which are filled with URL links that I need to revisit from time to time. I have always done it this way. I believe they are not the same as 'bookmarks', but I am not sure. You will see from the attached photo that the folders are named things like 'Apple' / 'MP3 Blogs' / 'Audio Production' / 'MusicBlogs' / 'Art' etc.

I use a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8 (admittedly a bit out of date now). Recently Mozilla Firefox (v 38.0.5) has been constantly crashing or 'hanging', not streaming video properly and generally malfunctioning. I came across 'Refresh Firefox' as a way of speeding things up, but I am very concerned that it could delete all of my URL link folders. Is there a risk that this will happen?

Thanks

Hello,

You can backup your profile, then you can do the refresh without lose your personal data. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. Also you can backup only backup your favorites and folders, see Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer and Backing up and restoring bookmarks - Firefox

Thanks Diego Victor - in answer to my question at the end then, it seems there is 'a risk that this will happen' (ie a refresh will delete all my folders). Am I right?

I approach technical stuff with a certain amount of fear. On a scale of 1 to 10, how difficult would you say a refresh, then retrieving and restoring all my folders / bookmarks is?

Risk always have, isn't 100% sure that everything will work in your computer equal on my, you know. Difficult? Is very easy, simple steps, just follow the instructions and be happy =), to me on a difficulty scale, I would say 2.

Bookmarks and toolbar folders should survive the Refresh as that feature is designed to carry forward, but there is a minor risk for data loss. Like a good Boy Scout - be prepared by backing up your bookmarks.
