Why is there not more tab functionality in Firefox itself?

Withe the frequency of Firefox updates, it seems to be a running battle getting Tab Mix Plus to work with it. After the new release I have had to swuitch it off again to stop constant FF lockups and crashes - plenty of crash reports have gone to you guys. But there are many, I would have thought obvious, functions in TMP there that Firefox itself does not offer. In my case these would include: tabs at bottom of page automatically open links etc in new tabs full crash retrieval

There are several more that give full control over tab usage. But Firefox is extremely light on tab options, and does nota even have a tabs section on the options page.

I think that is very poor.

Thanks, but I don't like either of those two options, because the more add-ons you have the more potential trouble you have. My point is that this is functionality Firefox really should have itself, so there is no such pain as I have been having in recent days. I will try the first link to give feedback
