This seems to be a known problem, but I would like to know if and when a fix is available. I am running Firefox 36 on Windows 7. The problem is that for no apparent reason FF slows down more and more, eventually stops completely, and then sometimes crashes. The crash says something about a plugin container error. I reset firefox a week or so ago and the problem went away for awhile, but it has just recurred. When I look at the memory usage in the task manager as this is happening, I notice that Firefox is using 25% of my CPU time pretty much continually and the memory usage is climbing steadily. I think memory usage hit 3 GB the last time, at which point I killed the process with the task manager. I sent a crash report through the automatic crash reporting facility once.
