I'm using Firefox 155.0.1 64bits, in Linux Mint Debian Edition 7, x11, XFCE4. I have a Belgian keyboard. I have noticed that the dead keys aren't working any more when typing text / messages from within Firefox. I don't have this problem in other browsers or applications.

I used xev (x11 utility) to check if the dead keys were working and tested a different keyboard, all work. I tried to start Firefox in safe mode or by starting Firefox from a terminal with the following commands: - env GTK_IM_MODULE=xim firefox - env GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus firefox

But nothing worked. The dead keys aren't working. The issue must come from Firefox for it is not an hardware issue (tried different keyboards) nor software (dead keys work in other applications).

Any idea to fix this ?

The browser recognizes Russian on the website as English and automatically translates it into "Russian," but what it actually produces is a jumble of letters that are neither Russian nor English. Essentially, the browser is translating from Russian—which I don't need to translate, since I'm from Russia—into an incomprehensible, non-existent language. And I can't turn off automatic translation of Russian because it's not available. There's a toggle switch: "Never translate English," but that doesn't work for Russian. You can click "Never translate this site" on the website itself, but the problem is that it's for a single website. It means I have to turn off translation and reload the website every time I visit a Russian-language website. This is very inconvenient. I ask you to add an option to disable translation of an entire language, not just English or a specific website.

My spell check generally doesn't work, but occasionally comes back to life, I have tried the about config, and change value to 2, I have tried uploading dictionary, and making sure check as I type is ticked, but the setting on config seems to keep reverting to 1, and I'm sure if I have successfully uploaded a dictionary, I clicked on language pack, Ironically while I'm typing this, my spell check is actively involved.

I'm using Mozilla's Firefox Debian package, Firefox 155.0.1 (64-bit), on a desktop. Until this version, my compose key worked with no problem, in Firefox and all other applications. Now it works with all other applications, but not Firefox.

My .bashrc includes this line: export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim

I checked about:config, and focusmanager.testmode is set to false.

Any ideas? I can't type my name without the compose key...

Since the recent updates, 1-2 weeks, every time I try to enter a character via Unicode insertion, CTRL+ALT+U, the character does not insert but a row break. I made a video about it: https://youtu.be/OP9UCGpZdEc

This happens in every website I use; mostly likely on every website.

Is there anything I can do now?

I get messages, questions and info from Firefox in Dutch. My language preferences in setting is English UK across the board. Browser, preferred, fall back and web site language. It works most of the time, apart from with Firefox. What can I do to make Firefox talk English to me?

Ive been FIGHTING to get business done on ROKU website. IT continues to switch to SPANISH. I am in the USA. I no longer am subscribed to ROKU in SPANISsince several months past. I figure a BLOCK for other languages would do the trick.IS there such a thing. THERE SHOULD BE!!! Thanks

For at least the last 10 years, Thunderbird spell-checker has rejected contractions such as "don't" in the emails that I type. It highlights "don" as a misspelled word, ignoring the apostrophe and "t". How can I force it to recognize contractions? Adding every contraction in the English language to the dictionary is not a practical answer.

Please tell me how to stop this. I have spellcheck enabled and a English (UK) dictionary selected. This problem has just started. My computer is old now and I'm running Windows 10. I had to do a 'hard shut-down' recently when my computer was unresponsive - might this have caused the problem? This underlining is only happening in Thunderbird, not in Word for example. I would be grateful for a simple solution as I'm not very computer-savvy.

I am in Bogota Colombia visiting my family and want to book a flight Bogota to Santa Marta but Mozilla doesn't allow me to book in colombian pesos but in American doblarse as if I was the US at the moment.

I have spell check turned on in setting to check as I type. And yes I have two dictionaries downloaded and installed. But as I am working inside a program and I have to enter data into a text field, if I want it spell checked I have to right click and then click on Spell check for every field that I enter text into. For a while last week it was working without having to do that, and I had done nothing to make it happen. It was nice. Since then I realized I want spell check on. But I can't figure out how to set it so that it turns on for every field that I click into to enter text. Any ideas?

How do I get Firefox to stop flagging Canadian spellings as wrong when English-ca is my top preferred language in settings? I am writing a WordPress post using Firefox on Mac.

This issue only pertains to the Chinese language and is not a website problem. In the startup settings, when the option to open previous windows and tabs is enabled, after keeping several web pages and re-entering the browser, Firefox will attempt to open the previous tabs. However, if a new tab is selected at this time, the search bar should normally display 'Use Baidu to search, or enter a URL,' but in reality, the characters for 'Baidu' appear as garbled text. This bug consistently occurs in this version. This issue only appeared after I automatically updated Firefox a few days ago; I have never encountered this problem before. Problem number 1: It should be based on the installed language.

Problem number 2: It says PT-PT but it's 100% PT-BR, What is "celular" and "privativo"?, sintax does not conform to european portuguese either.

Hi First of all thanks a lot Mozilla team for creating a wonderful master piece of security and privacy. I really love firefox browser native translation feature. By unfortunately my native language still missing. I am still surprised why urdu still not added as language in translation. There are arround 500 millions native urdu speaker's Please support urdu Also.
