I frequently use Shift-Delete to get rid of mail but not have it go to Trash. Well, after 10+ years, the inevitable finally happened today when I Shift-Deleted several messages, it was actually several *hundreds* of messages, like maybe 1000+. Inbox is almost empty, can't Undo. I have not closed Thunderbird and have copied out the file "Inbox" (1.04 MB) and "Inbox.msf", in the hopes of being able to retrieve the lost mail. I'm hoping those deleted messages are still in the Inbox, but I don't know how to retrieve. Any help or hints would be very appreciated. Oh, one more stupid thing - my backup of Thunderbird is several months old, which would help, but I'd still feel stupid. Thanks for whatever.

I have Thunderbird running on Win 11. I have several email accounts, and 4 local folders. In one of the local folders, there are several emails, and the bottom 2 emails (as shown in the image) will not delete when I hit the delete button. When I do an "open in new tab" in Thunderbird, it opens a view that shows blank. How can I get these 2 emails to delete? and what is preventing them from being deleted via the delete button?

I downloaded thunderbird 144.0.1 and I'm trying to manually set up a 3rd email account, but the wizard gets stuck on "continue" after typing in name and email address forever. I also don't have the option of accessing "account actions". Working offline also does not reveal “Skip / Use my own email setup”.

How do I get to the manual configuration page, please? Thank you very much in advance, Anna

In the latest version, however, I cannot seem to find an "undo" command to correct a mistaken action while sorting new messages, such as a finger-slip that saves a message to the wrong mailbox or deletes a message I meant to save. Is there an "undo" for the last action taken?

I am really really distraught right now. It took me two weeks to get the time and focus to write a long reply to a company's nice email to me. Stayed up till 2am to write it. Deliberately wanted to re-read it in the morning before sending. Gone. Nowhere to be found. I pressed "Save to draft" before closing my laptop. But not saved. This account actually has a "draft" folder, unlike most of my other accounts in Thunderbird, which I also cannot figure out and no one has helped me with.

I have configured [edited] @cogdual.com as the primary mailbox. I am trying to add few more email ids to the same inbox which i am not able to. When i try to add the mail in the Add option, it is buffering and not process forward

Not resolve even after multiple efforts. Please guide

Bonjour, récemment j'ai dû reinitialiser windows 11, j'avais fait un backup avec ashampoo backup. Après reinstallation de thunderbird, je voudrais restaurer le donnés et surtout les archives. J'ai restauré les données dans de profile, mais je ne vois pas les anciens messages ,calenders et contacts. J'ai lus dans les forums , de recharger la version 141, pas de succès. J'ai lu aussi d'effacer global-message-db.sqlite , pas de succés. Que doit je restaurer, et dans quel version ? Merci pour votre aide. André

I am trying to add another email account. My email accounts (imap) have to be manually configured. The system does not give me an option to manually configure a new another email. It tries to automatically configure and then just runs continuously in the background trying to configure the new email. What am I missing here?

Compacting fails with error message " The folder 'Inbox on **********' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again." This happens on both my PC's, which are not connected in any way, but have duplicate installations. The profile is 7.75GB - PC A - Win 10 Pro - has 704GB spare disk space, PC B - Win 11 Pro - has 50GB spare disk space. I can think of no reason why write permissons would change. This problem started with ver. 138 & has continued with ver. 139

Since updating to V143.0.1 the Send and Attach buttons are missing when compiling messages.

When I finish compiling a message now I have to select File>>Send of press Ctrl/Return. In either case a check message then appears that has to be accepted

If I want to attach a document or file I have to select File>>Attach>File or Ctrl/Shift/A.

What's happened to the buttons?

Hi, it's many year that I moving manually messages to folders located on a NAS. Everything has always been fine, but today I've discovered that, despite searching funcion is regularly finding all the messages, if I try to open them they show a blank body (see image attached)
