Hi, Sadly having big problems transferring Thunderbird onto new WIN11 PC. Been at it for some days now.... The old PC's C drive is now installed on the new PC (as a spare drive) so all the original Thunderbird files are still intact I believe. I have always kept my email files in separate dated folders on the old PC HD and so have about 27Gb of data (965 files in 111 folders) all under AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/xxxxdefault However after installing latest Thunderbird version and trying to substitute the above original profile I find the old stored files are not visible on opening Thunderbird. the software tries to download huge number of files from the server, and there is no Address Book data from previous old PC install. very frustrated, and pissed at how programmers always screw things up that are working just fine by upgrading crap. Now, I have suddenly had all of my addons quit working, was forced to update my firefox. Nothing changed, and it still shows that I am using version 105, instead of the all-new, better and fancier, singing and dancing crap that is being forced upon me.

- Message asking for an update of Firefox (expired root certificate, extensions disconnection) - Proposed download completed (Firefox 135.0)

- Firefox/ Help/ "About Firefox": 113.0.2 (32 bits), no update proposal - Launch the . exe file from previous download In the "About Firefox" window, version 135.0 appears well during installation When the computer is restarted, this panel has returned to version 113

The computer works normally and perfectly meets my needs (emails and internet searches), so it is out of the question to change it (it would be scandalous from an environmental point of view)

I have been using Linkman for over 15 years and have a very large collection of bookmarks. Is there anyway to enable it? I'd hate abandon Firebox as I do need this extension please help.

J'ai arrêté mon pc dimanche dernier dernier et quand je l'ai rallumé vendredi et lancé Mozilla j'avais tout perdu. Comment récupérer mes données tout en sachant que je n'ai pas de sauvegarde. Firefox Desktop (x64) worked normally until the version 135 update was installed. Now tabs (even a single tab) crash after startup unless Firefox is run in troubleshooting mode or Windows 8 compatibility mode. OS is Windows 10 Pro (x64) 22H2 on ThinkPad E495 (AMD Ryzen 5 3500U) Things that haven't resolved the problem: - Remove extensions and themes - Refresh Firefox - Reinstall Firefox - Updating Visual C++ 2015-2022 with Redistributable (x64) version 14.42.34438 - Updating Firefox to version 135.0.1 and subsequently to version 136.0, however updater only works in Windows 8 compatibility mode - Full system scan for malware (none found) Note: Extensions NoScript and Cookie AutoDelete work normally with Firefox running in Windows 8 compatibility mode.

Need to install Firefox ESR. If I overwrite my current version of Firefox (115.0.3), will my bookmarks, passwords, and windows and tabs all be saved? Never had an issue before with installing updates . . . but just want to be sure.

I'm not sure when this 136.0.1 update happened but starting today, firefox has been crashing all day. The symptom when I see it is I can't get to a website I then go over to the the help desk (open in firefox), which auto refreshes every couple minutes, is spinning (not updating). If I open a new instance the UI never completely loads. When I close things, then try to open, it says firefox already running and if to quit, yes, and just no UI completely loads. In the end, it will only start working again if I reboot. Several reports were sent to microsoft (the automatic notifying microsoft of issue).

I tried disabling all plugins and same thing still happens.

I do know the helpdesk website had a new certificate installed yesterday. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. It's not like firefox doesn't work when first bringing it up, it works for a while then all of a sudden doesn't? and then starts crashing.

Is anyone else having an issue with the latest version on Win10 x64 using the x64 version of FireFox?

I'm using chrome right now since it just crashed again in "not responding" state. I'd rather stay with FireFox.

Recently (last two FF versions), when updating as a non-admin Mac OS 15 user, there has been an issue with the PrivilegedHelperTool - a tool that allows non-admin users to provide an admin password and update files in /Applications. The Helper Tool accepted the password but then closed. Starting Firefox will only bring the Helper Tool (admin login) back again, making it impossible to run Firefox under this user. The admin user was not affected. The solution was to reinstall Firefox. I had to remove my profile files in Library/Application Support and restart a few times until I could regain Firefox. I have seen issues with the Privileged Helper Tool with another app, sometimes even corrupting the update. I hope this helps other people to address this and that the issue is resolved in future versions.

I'm having three problems.

First, for a long while, I've been getting "launcher-process-failure" files in my Windows 10 "C:\Users\{User}\AppData\Local\Temp" directory. They seem to be related to Firefox. They start with a letter "x" and file extension "0" and are only 1K.

===> What are they and ===> how can I fix this?

Second, atarting with FireFox update 136.0, I have to completely restart Windows then open FireFox for it to install. Otherwise, it does nothing when FireFox restarts itself.

===> Why is this happening? ===> Is there a way to fix it.

Third, I can't determine the exact event that causes this, but there are times when I am in FireFox and I start hearing wants sounds like Ocean waves. I checked Windows Task Manager and nothing else is running that would cause that sound. It goes away when I close FireFox and it doesn't matter what site I'm on .

Hi everyone I have Firefox 110. My husband installed it on my laptop. He died 2 years ago :( It does not automatically update. I can't update because I don't have his administrator password. Or any other useful passwords :( And I have never done anything geekish before; I am only a user. Please can anyone explain in words my mother would understand what to do with the Firefox 136 .tar file. Or even better how to work around permissions so I can get automatic updates. Pete and I worked together well to set up www.pcurtis.com but I never learned the systems stuff - I never needed to when he was alive. I am a retired academic. Anyone in the Oxford UK area who could help would be really useful. As an emergency I have just started to use the Opera browser he installed but I have no passwords for that either.... Pauline

somehow Mozilla 36.1 was added to my 35.1 causing the two versions to appear. They would both open upon start. I uninstalled 36.1 and now some sites won't open. And computer really slow. Thanks
