I can not delet a bookmark

I have a bookmark I can not delete.I have tried moving it to the trash,I have gone to Edit,I have highlighted it,I have tried everything I can think of.When I go to Bookmarks in the top menu,the list will not go past this one bookmark,but it is in the list when I go to Organize Bookmarks.This bookmark has no info at all,no address,just a name.How can I get rid of it.It is a real pain to have.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Thanks for the help,but it is information overload.I do not understand half of it.Is there simple step by step instructions on how to delete a bookmark that will not delete,Instructions for a layman.

You need to look at the section that is about fixing a corrupted places.sqlite file.

It was not locked to start with. Something so small can cause so much trouble. Is there anything else I can try?

I tried doing a back up in Organize Bookmarks.Got a message stating that it was unable to proceed.Well,it got rid of the corrupt bookmark,but it also got rid of all other bookmarks.Luckily I made a JSON file before I did a back up.It"ll take a while to copy all 40 bookmarks,but I'll get it done.

You will probably have to delete the places.sqlite file(s) to recover from this as is written in the knowledge base articles.

Firefox should restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.

Get rid of one problem,another pops up.Now I can not bookmark some pages.I could bookmark it before,but now I can not.

Did you try to delete the places.sqlite file or (temporarily) move the file to another location to make Firefox rebuild the file?
