keep getting requests to down load security updates fo mac 10.4 or higher i have all the right requirements but when i down-load i'm told the version doesn't work on my system and i have to reload the older version?????
i am tired of receiving security update down-loads which say they are for mac 10.4 or higher. when i download i'm told that 'the version will not work on my system (i have all the right system requirements according to the download info). i then have to replace the newly downloaded firefox with an older version which i, fortunately, have as back up. it's time consuming and annoying why don't you just say 10.5 or higher etc. then i wouldn't need to bother with it....comments please

Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
- Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
- Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
- Install the new version that you have downloaded
