Get Messages doesn't work anymore. I created another profile with the same email address and it works fine. The issue is that I lost all my info, addresses, and most importantly the Calendar. I've been messing around with this all in trying to import that info into the new profile, but failing. I copied calendar-data to the new profile, but it doesn't show up. Can someone please help! Thanks, Paul

Chosen solution

Can I just copy that entire folder from the old to the new profile?

Make sure Thunderbird is closed. Then copy the *contents* of Local Folders from the old profile into Local Folders of the new profile.

... my work computer is also in the same state as her old profile and I AM NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE EMAILS ALSO.

Export your local address book(s) in the old profile in .ldif format and import them into the new profile. Export your local calendar(s) in the old profile in .ics format and import them into the new profile.

Hi, thanks for taking this on! I have exported to a .ics file, but for some reason having an issue with the import. In the new profile, I created a new calendar, selected From My Computer, gave it a name, but this dialog does NOT ask for a file name. I went back to calendar, right-click on the new calendar name, but I still don't see anything about importing. Can you tell me what I'm missing, thanks!

In a calendar tab, press Alt to bring up the menu bar in case it is hidden. Then Events and Tasks - Import will bring up the import wizard.

Oh my I should have contacted you yesterday!!! I spent half the day looking for that Import and just could not find it. So I have imported Calendar and Addresses, now the local folder. Can I just copy that entire folder from the old to the new profile? Really appreciate your help!!!

Ooh, there's an issue here!!! The questions I posed so far were for my wife's thunderbird on her computer. Basically Thunderbird would not receive any emails when clicking Get Message. So I created a new profile for her, and emails came in. So I assumed it was a profile issue, but had to import everything back into her new profile. I also have thunderbird on my work computer and noticed while testing with my wife that I had not received any emails either for a few days. So I sent myself an email from her machine and it was not received. Long story short, my work computer is also in the same state as her old profile and I AM NOT ABLE TO RECEIVE EMAILS ALSO. Is this a know problem with Thunderbird right now?

Thanks for the Local Folder.... But this issue is larger than expected. I went to your link, and my version is 128 and we routinely update Thunderbird. I tried changing that setting but not surprisingly that did not work since this was meant for version 78. Why is it that when we (my wife and I) create new profiles for testing that the emails are working fine, send and receive, but won't work in the regular profiles? Once again appreciate your help!

I just tried something and this has to do with POP and IMAP. I just added an account with the same email and password as my POP account. It created a new entry in the Mail left hand margin, but I am able to send and receive emails from the IMAP account but not the POP. If don't know if this makes to sense to you?

I don't know why your old profile(s) stopped working. It could also be something related to your email provider, but I'm not going to guess. When everything is working with a new profile then I suppose your problem is solved.
