If I'm using the built in VPN no pages will load, regardless of the location I pick. I did not have this issue previously, I've only first saw it the other day. No websites seem to work and as long as I have the VPN turned off everything works fine.

How then am I protected in any kind of secure way?

All it would take is the Mozilla services using my public IP to lose my browsing protection. How are those connections secured to protect my identity from being exposed once the VPN is enabled and even after the VPN is enabled?

If the public IP can be discovered at sign-in, re-connections, and public Wi-Fi connections before the VPN is enabled, then that same public IP can be traced through internal logs to uncover all the VPN activity done after sign-in, re-connections, and public Wi-Fi access. So, how exactly can I trust the VPN protects my activity at all?

I'm just curious how you setup any protection prior to the VPN being enabled? I'm a former IT Network Specialist I had my CISCO CCNA certificate (Worked in school districts who wouldn't pay for additional certificates so I did all the study work and practice testing up to the CCNP certification just could never afford to take any of the exams beyond the CCNA). So, when I see these additional things like your 50 GB of free browser VPN and read how it works I get curious about the actual protections being provided. Are the people more vulnerable than they may be led to believe?

Using Firefox v154.0.1. I have the free built-in VPN Beta enabled. I'm located in Austria. No matter which country I select in the VPN settings (Germany,France,Canada,US,UK), I always have a Singapore IP. It says so if I open an IP test website (e.g. from NordVPN) and also on YouTube.

The Firefox built-in VPN option appeared for me about a week ago, maybe two; I don’t know whether it only just reached me in the rollout, or whether Firefox highlighted it because of the “more bandwidth” promotion. Either way, I activated it. But then, three days ago, I noticed that my browsing was no longer going through a VPN, and that the VPN settings had all disappeared from Firefox.

I’m in Australia. I’m signed into my Firefox account. I’ve tried signing out and back in; restarting this device; and doing as many steps from the Support article “Unable to find the built-in VPN in Firefox” as I could, given that it gives instructions for desktop Firefox, not Android. In particular, I removed one study—not the one named in the article, but a different one with “holdback” in the name (something like “long term holdback H1”).

When using Firefox 154.0.1 (MacOS) and VPN, my ISP provider seems to randomly change between my selected country (Canada) and current location (US).

Is this a known bug, or is there a setting that I need to tweak?

At first FF free vpn used the server (Spain, France ..) that I selected Since a couple of days it always uses Singapore server, no matter what I select I have already cleared the cachet, turn off and on the vpn, restarted my laptop .. still the same Any solution?

when i click the VPN icon it shows the get started page and when i click on it and log in it doesn't give me the option to turn it on, its the same get started page. it does that every time i press get started.

I've been using the built-in firefox vpn and it has worked just fine, amazing actually, the best free vpn i've ever used. I've used it mostly to access Japanese contect, so Japan server, and now it's not working. it still show my ip, but if I change location to any other country it shows that country, so the issue is with the Japanese server.

I cannot find the new built-in VPN or any icon to add to my toolbar. It was offered to me after update 150 but it only brought me to the support page on how to add it to toolbar. The icon is not at upper right corner of browser. And I found no way via Customize Toolbar to add the new VPN to toolbar.

So, when I click on the VPN it has a button marked "Get Started", when I click on it it takes me to a page to sign in to my Mozilla account. When I sign into the account, it pops open the VPN box again and tells me I can now turn it on.

The problem is when the VPN box opens again it just gives me the 'Get Started' button again and it just loops back around to asking me to sign into my Mozilla account.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to use the VPN, when I press the "get started" button in the toolbar for the VNP it tells me to log in. When i do it says "you are logged in" "turn on the VPN button in the toolbar to access the function. but when i try i get sendt back in an endless loop to the "get started page again". As I understand it's in Beta but my region (Sweden) should be supported.

I can sign in with my Mozilla account as it asks me to do but the VPN does not activate. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

I'm stuck in a loop with trying to enable VPN. Initial click on the vpn icon in the top right gives me a popup with a "Get Started" button. I clicked that and went through the authentication process (logged into my mozilla account). I then got the popup with the "Next: Turn on VPN" message. However I click on the top right icon again (as indicated in the popup) but I'm back to the icon with the "Get Started" button - then round again...
