Since 3rd September 2026 Thunderbird opens a system integration window and then goes to not responding. I cannot access my emails through this software at all at the moment as there's no way past his pop up. Version 153.1.1, Windows 11 Home.

Could somebody please tell me what settings I did not make ....

I have four gmail accounts, say A, B, C and D. A is the default.

If I send a message from B to an outside email address, the reply routing is returned to the A address and not the B sending address.

If I send a message from B to C then the message is not received anywhere, it simply disappears.

If I open a browser and send a message from B to C then the message is delivered. So I know that the problem is with Thunderbird and not the email service.

Please tell me what I need to change in the settings ....

I know that to view the composition toolbar, I need to open up a new message, then click View, and then click Toolbars. However, what do I do if the Menu Bar is also now visible? See attached screenshot.

With Thunderbird 155 our Shortcuts deletion plugin doesn't work anymore.

Now all the worst shortcuts like "a" are back. 

(I never understood why it isn't something like "Alt+A" )

We need to deactivate all the *(/&%$&% shortcuts. We deactivated them via a plugin. But the plugin does't work with 155. Does someone knew what mozilla chaged with the shortcuts handling, so we can change our plugin acordingly?

TB will import but does not display either legible emails nor attachments. I suspect GM at is fault. The takeouts seem incomplete at Zip 11GB. There are 2407 emails in my simple GM account a few with always Adobe PDF legal document attachments. I am new to Thunderbird so that may be a contributor but it looks very straight forward. Perhaps I am a moronic 82? I represent 11,000 disabled Firefighters pro bono in UK and Ireland. Grateful for any help please...Paul

Hello All, all of a sudden I cannot send emails anymore. I do receive emails though. I have 4 accounts and none works. I went to account settings > outgoing ... all my accounts are set to SSL/TLS and below OAuth2. What goes into the Username field ... the email address or just my name? When I send a test email to myself the send window keeps going and going .. never sends BTW ... in Server Settings I have the same Authentication and Security as in Outgoing. Please help - I'm not getting anywhere. Also ... what goes into "Manage Identities"? ... just the specific email? or all four?

I had to start anew with Firefox on my desktop. New password and settings. I am recognized, but i cannot find my e-mail to open

you say you will send an e-mail when someone has an answer for me .. i may get it on my mobile, but my desktop does not even have an e-mail account showing

Starting today, Thunderbird freezes during the "loading messages" process. I get a Windows hourglass and Windows tells me Thunderbird is "not responding."

Task Manager shows TB running but not taking up very many CPU cycles.

I suspect a damaged database, but what do I know?

Each of the tabs above is an email/message that was open the last time I ran TB.

I have no control over TB as it 'spins.'

I cannot find my TB version because TB is frozen. But it is fairly recent.

I need help.

I have been using Thunderbird for years with no problems. However recently, Thunderbird very often simply stops responding. Sometimes it just hangs up and sometimes the program bar at the top displays "Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding)". If I try to wait for it to respond, it literally hangs for several minutes before it begins to respond again, and often, it simply never starts responding again. It has simply gotten to the point where Thunderbird is practically unusable. All my other application software continues to work with no problems. It's just Thumderbird.

The version number in this submission may not be correct. I can't provide the real version number because of the hangups.

Any suggestions?

Suddenly since Friday 21.08.2026 morning every single person in our company started to call the IT department that their Thunderbird client is printing out blank pages (white pages) instead of attachments from emails.

What is happening -> Employee gets email with PDF attachment -> clicks to open it in thunderbird print preview -> prints -> blank page comes out.

What works -> Downloading the PDF and printing it. Opening the PDF in any other browser than Thunderbird and printing it.

No settings or updates were changed and it's a big issue affecting multiple computers.

What I tried doing -> Trying different printer (No fix), Resetting print settings in thunderbird (No fix). Trying other PDF attachments from older emails (No fix). Looking at print settings in windows (Which I didn't change since it only doesnt work in Thunderbird).

Problem is that on thunderbird in my office, This doesn't happen. We have the same versions and settings.

I tried opening the error console while opening the PDF and on computers where it doesnt work it shows me an error with along the lines of "This document is open in compability mode due to **** header <doctype html>" Something like that but i would have to check again.

I don't get this error on my personal PC.

I have Thunderbird 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. When I opened Thunderbird this morning, it originally gave a message that the connection to the email server had failed. Before I had time to look into this, it downloaded a number of emails without headings and sometimes without text. However, Thunderbird on my Android phone, I discovered subsequently, had downloaded all the messages correctly. The problem seems to have now corrected itself for subsequent emails, but is there some way I can force the download of these previous incomplete emails? Also, this is a very recent update to Thunderbird - I think it was installed in the last few days. Is it a problem with the update and is it likely to occur again?

Since reinstalling Thunderbird and Firefox, When i get an email in my Thunderbird email listing, clicking a link does not open it so I have to copy it and open it in Firefox.

Dzień dobry, Zgłaszam powtarzający się błąd w programie Thunderbird. Mam problem z drukowaniem załączników w formacie PDF bezpośrednio z okna wiadomości e-mail. Opis problemu: Podczas próby wydruku załącznika PDF, w oknie podglądu pojawia się czarny ekran z komunikatem, że aplikacja nie obsługuje podglądu. Po kliknięciu „Drukuj”, drukarka wypuszcza całkowicie puste, białe kartki. Środowisko: System operacyjny: Windows 11 Drukarka: Canon MF450 Series UFR II Ważne informacje: Drukarka jest w 100% sprawna. Drukowanie tych samych plików PDF po zapisaniu ich na dysku (przez przeglądarkę, Adobe Acrobat) działa bez najmniejszego problemu. Problem występuje wyłącznie wewnątrz Thunderbirda. Co już próbowałam zrobić (bez skutku): Uruchomienie programu w trybie rozwiązywania problemów (Safe Mode). Czyszczenie pamięci podręcznej (cache). Resetowanie ustawień profilu drukarki w Edytorze ustawień (usunięcie parametrów print_printer). Wymuszenie systemowego okna dialogowego przez zmianę print.prefer_system_dialog na true. Wyłączenie zaawansowanych funkcji drukowania w sterowniku Windows i zmiana trybu na rastrowy. Wygląda na to, że wbudowany silnik czytnika PDF w Thunderbirdzie przestał poprawnie komunikować się ze sterownikiem Canon UFR II. Będę wdzięczna za zbadanie tego błędu i pomoc, ponieważ drukowanie bezpośrednio z programu jest mi niezbędne do codziennej pracy. Z poważaniem, Alina

Block advertisements in my emails, I hate this advertisements they pop up everywhere, when I type subject in my emails instead of to appear the subject contect the gambling advertisements will pop up it is very frustrating

Sending email has gotten very slow even for text messages. This started happening a few weeks ago & I didn’t think much about it. But something is not right.

I hit send & the little status window just sits there “Status: Sending Message”. The Progress bar shows all blue as if the email has been sent. But the screen just sits there.

This is on 3 different profiles where I have deleted trash & compacted folders.

If I login to the AT&T website & send messages they go through in a flash. Just like they used to do with Thunderbird.

I'm presuming the issue is with Thunderbird (vers 91.13.1). However I have not changed anything.

What could be affecting multiple profiles? Any suggestions how to fix this? Thanks

For years I have been using Thunderbird and supporting with donations and one of the important uses is being able to preview .pdf files and then quickly highlight and copy information from the pdf such as an invoice number so I can paste it into another document.

Now I can not do this - Why?

I am running 154.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11 - not that this should matter - clearly the issue is the update has chanced how .pdf's can be accessed.

Other issue is printing the pdf only prints a blank page

Incredibly frustrating - what is the issue and how do I fix it?
