I have just installed Quantum, and would like to move the tabs back beneath the bookmarks toolbar, as I think this is a much more logical location for them. Is it possible to do this, and if so, how? I'm using Windows 8.1/ 64 bit, if that matters.

It seems that new Firefox (quantum) is stubbornly not providing X buttons on Tabs. Is this an internal political squabble? I'm coping without add-ons, except for this. Why must I click a mouse wheel to close Tabs!!!!???? WHY?!?! WTF!!! Why is there not an X button option in Options under Tabs? Why do they disappear in the first place? That's just inconsistent!!

I use many applications that have tabs and every one has X buttons. So know I must stop and think: do I use the middle mouse button to close tabs in this software? Or do I click the X button?! How can this be an oversight? Are you ***ing with users or not? I want to know.

Why are there 40 add-ons to put a CLose Tab button in the Toolbar, and not 1 (single) add-on to put the X button in the Tabs themselves? Why are all of the past about:config options killed? Why is this so important? I want to know. You finally got me to make an account with Mozilla. Are you happy now? WTF??? (All software puts X buttons in tabs. Even Firefox does! Seriously, WTF.)

My Tabs toolbar used to be under my Links toolbar. It is now above the Address toolbar.

How do I put my Tabs toolbar back where I want it (not where Firefox arbitrarily decided to put it)?

Alternately, How do I go back to FireFox 70.0.1?

System: Windows 8.1, 64-bit

              FireFox 71, 64-bit

Note: My laptop (Windows 8.1, 64-bit) has Firefox 70.0.1 (but wants me to "update" (sic)). It has the tool bars in my preferred order. I'm not about to "update" until I know how to fix FireFox 71.

In the new interface on Firefox (which started for me today ... May 2 ...), I cannot open a new tab via the "+" sign along the top or by using Ctrl + T. If I want more than one thing open at the same time, I need to open a "New Window", which doesn't make much sense. I don't necessarily want a bunch of windows but may need a few tabs open at the same time.

Hi

Running Firefox 71.0 (64 bit)

Well seems Firefox has been messing this up again.

Anyone have the new work around solution to get my tabs back on the bottom again. They were fine this morning then shut down and went out to lunch and when I came back they were back on the top again after months of being where I wanted them below my bookmark bar.

Thoughts on this?

Thanks Dave

I'll wait till this is fixed in the about:config if ever or there is a fix that isn't too complicated. otherwise I may even move on. I have been a dedicated firefox user since netscape.

Now, after upgrading Firefox to v.29 this entry is still set to the false value, however, I can't get the tabs below the adressbar (which is super annoying). Any ideas how to resolve this?

If I'm in a tab, and click on something, I have it set up to open in a new tab. But lately, I've been clicking on something, going back to the first tab to continue searching or whatever, then, I look up to see the blue horizontal line bouncing from left to right on that tab I recently opened. I go, "Man, that website must be slow!" and click on the tab. Lo and behold, the tab was pretty much frozen until I clicked on it. It was like it wasn't going to load until I clicked on it. Is there any way I can make this not happen? And have tabs load whether or not I'm in the tab I want to load? It seems sometimes that my computer is just slow, and the tab takes a while to load and happens to load when I click on the tab. Either way, it hasn't happened before, and I don't particularly want it to happen anymore lol.
