Recently I bought a new PC, installed Firefox on it, logged in with my account and synced all of my bookmarks and add-ons, etc My wife is now working on my old PC, therefore I removed all old programs and installed just the basic stuff she always uses. She's also created her own account after installing the latest version of Firefox. I didn't rename the computer, only her Windows useraccount. Also created a new profile, that doesn't help either because bookmarks keep getting synced between two different accounts each on a different PC and I don't seem to get it right. Looked at the different devices that should sync under each account, that seems to be OK. But everytime I make a change in the bookmarks on one of the PC's with it's own account the other one also gets changed under that different account. Can someone help me by taking it step by step, so I can understand what it is I am doing wrong?

Firefox has become completely unusable for me because it has become very slow. It was fine on this computer (newer i7, 32GB ram, ssd) last weekend but not this. It is actually happening on two different computers. It becomes impossible to type (echo is seconds and windows reports that the application is not responsive).

However sysinternals procexp doesn't report anything much unusual for the computer as whole or FF. Speed test shows that my internet connection is fine and Chrome is working normally

I have paired sync down to only bookmarks and add-ons of which there are only 5.

The problem may be due to sync - FF seems to perform normally in safe mode or before it has asked for the master password.

I have a beef with visibility around sync - it doesn't seem to be possible to see how often it is running, how much data it is sending, how many disk writes are happening.

I am submitting this report from Chrome because FF is unusable.

I'm trying to log back into Firefox Sync, when I get the authorsiation code to my email Inbox, I enter it into the Firefox login screen. I've tried Copying & Pasting and manually typing the code, but no matter what I get the message "Invalid Authorisation Code" then after several attempts - I have to wait another 15 minutes before trying again.

I don't want to reset my password, as I don't want to loose all my bookmarks, history, saved passwords etc...

New setup (new PC), logged in to firefox account, both sides ticked to sync options, add ons and bookmarks. The latter 2 synced, but not the options (ie. layout) and the add-on options totally do not sync. Default firefox setup is super annoying with it's pocket, no direct icon for bookmarks etc etc. Not mentioning custom filters for ublock. So I expected this all will sync but it doesn't. One more thing - any way to sync passwords? Some offline method?

Cheers

Hello, I am looking for help deleting my Sync account. I remember my password but have lost my recovery keys and therefore cannot regain access to my account to disable two-factor-authentication. I have tried resetting my password several times but have not been able to bypass 2FA. What I want to do is completely delete my current Sync account associated with my primary email address, then create a new Sync account using the same email address. Is this possible? I was able to copy my saved logins and bookmarks so I am okay with everything getting erased and starting over, I'd just like to use my primary email address. Thank you!

I got a nasty malware infection today, from [stupidly] downloading a file. The app installed all sorts of garbage all over the place including taking over Firefox and replacing Google search results with its own.

I'd been meaning to reformat + clean install Windows 7 anyway, so I did so immediately.

Now on the fresh install, I can log in to Firefox Sync, and all my logins are intact, however, my hundreds of bookmarks are "gone" and the Bookmark Toolbar won't let me add anything new to it either.

The thing is, the bookmarks *DO* still exist in FF on my Android... but as I understand there's no way to export bookmarks from mobile... (at least not without hacky-looking apps?)

I'm worried that it's going to sync "the wrong way" and delete them from the Android, but on the other hand, the strange toolbar behaviour might mean the data's still there but "stuck" or corrupt?

Any suggestions?

I'm on Windows 7 Home, running Firefox ESR 52/64-bit (same as previously).

I've lost at least some of my sync information and I don't know how to recover it. Let me trace the steps of what happened:

I reinstalled my OS, which wiped out the Firefox install on that hard drive. I booted up an older version of Firefox from my other hard drive (I didn't realize that the up-to-date one I was using was on my OS drive), and proceeded to update it. During that process, I logged into my account to start syncing, and in between various Firefox update-restarts, I pressed the "Sync Now" button which I believe overwrote my sync data. I pressed it without much thought, not realizing it was the "Sync Now" button (I half-thought it might open up the sync options menu or something).

Is there any way to go back to a previous sync restore point to make sure that all my extensions, history, tabs, and bookmarks are properly saved? I do have what appears to be a mostly-up-to-date version of my session (albeit disorganized) in the form of the "Synced Tabs" feature -- under the name I used to use for that instance of my browser -- but I don't think all of my bookmarks synced before I overwrote it.

In the future, what should I know about sync overwriting? If I open up Firefox on another PC device and sync my data, do I need to touch absolutely nothing to avoid overwriting it, or was the problem caused by pressing the sync button?

Windows 10 (1903). Quite often I find that sync never completes, the spinning wheel, it just keeps spinning. I have to exit Firefox and restart, and upon restart I need to kill the previous Firefox instance. Then, and only then, will sync work. But not for long, usually in a few hours it's hung up again. This only happens on my Windows 10 machine (sync works fine with my FF mobile and Windows 7 devices).

I did a Firefox restore due to suspect browser hijack ( it wasn't). All mu saved logins have been eraases so tried to do a manaul sync.

This pops up a yellow bar along the top of the "Logins and Paswords" page saying "Please enter your master password to view saved logics and passwords" . I don't have a master password set so that makes little sense. To the right of the yellow bar is a button "login". if i click the button ther yellow bar goes away but there is no log in dialog.

I had a lot of important bookmarks in Firefox without signed in Firefox account on my old PC. Before moving away from that old PC, I signed in to firefox account to it connect Firefox data with my mail and account. I even tested that in way that I signed out from my account, removed all the data from Firefox, and when I signed in again, it was all there. It was about 5 months ago. Now, on my new PC, when I signed in with same account, there is no any those bookmarks. I tried to restore bookmarks, but it offers me only two time points in past for restoring, and none of those gives me back bookmarks or any other data. I didn't use that account with Firefox until now. Please help, there was a lot of important bookmarks to me for work.

I have several system that all use Firefox and are configured to use sync. All of them, but this one sync fine. The one with the issue is on a RHEL 7.5 host and is running FireFox 52.8.0. Mozilla Firefox Sync is blocked in whole Russia, when Russian authorities (Roskomnadzor) try to block Telegram, so it blocks those subnets: http://isitblockedinrussia.com/?host=accounts.firefox.com 35.160.0.0/13 54.144.0.0/12

Additional info here: https://github.com/sxiii/russian-blackout

So all Russian users at now can't use Firefox Sync (accounts.firefox.com) and other Mozilla cloud services.

Can Mozilla provide mirror or proxy for accounts.firefox.com website and other services in new IP subnet, that not blocked in Russia?

For Russian users: Роскомнадзор (РКН) заблокировал в России доступ к синхронизации Mozilla Firefox поэтому сайты accounts.firefox.com, firefoxusercontent.com, sync.services.mozilla.com не открываются у многих русских провайдеров (Ростелеком, Мегамакс, Virgin Connect и т.п.)

I have many, many bookmark - all the the toolbar folder. Most of them sync, but a few folders won't for some reason. "Sync now" seems to have no effect.

I used to use Xmarks, and Xmarks had a lot more control over syncing. You could force upload (overwrite server) and force download (overwrite local), for one thing - that could often be used to fix sync issues. You could also view your server bookmark list online (via web).

How can I troubleshoot this? Or how can I force a sync?
