I used the password manager feature years and go to it probably 5+ times a week. I went to look for a password today and there are only 5 accounts in there. Trying not to panic I went to my computer to see if it was just my iOS device that wasn't showing them all for some reason, but only the same five accounts are in there too. When I first setup my ipad, all the accounts in the password vault sync'd but they all showed empty so I never bothered looking them up on there. I'm wondering if somehow the ipad's failed sync caused all the other passwords to be corrupted and removed from my account somehow. The 5 accounts I do have are all new accounts I've made over the past month, and I've used it a ton since the old ones. Any ideas for how I could get them back?

As the subject indicates, I'm unable to get passwords to sync and can't import from csv. Password file was generated by desktop Firefox on a Windows PC, trying to load to Firefox on Mac. I've manually entered usernames/passwords in the login fields for a few sites and selected the Save Password option when prompted, but about:logins# still says 0 logins and nothing populates when I return to the login page for those sites or pops up if I click or start typing in the username/password fields. Also attempted to sync using same Mozilla account logged in on iOS device and Mac, and that fails on the Mac, too (all passwords are still in iOS version and sync on the device is up-to-date). Error log from attempted sync includes, "Skipping check of passwords - disabled via preferences" and repeats 'Skipping check of... disabled...' for tabs, bookmarks, addons, etc., despite all of the options being selected under about:preferences#sync. Tried unchecking all, disconnecting, reconnecting, and making sure all were checked again. Tried to connect using QR code, but keep getting the message, "Pairing unsuccessful. Try again." as soon as I click on "Connect another device" - a QR code is never actually generated/displayed (see image), and clicking on it to 'try again' does not refresh/generate a QR code. A Primary Password (Master Password) has never been set for this account/on any associated devices. If I try to enter a web address, username, and password manually in about:logins#, it throws an error message and says it couldn't save, and asks me to enter a primary password which, again, I've never created/had. All versions of Firefox are up-to-date.

Please help.

If the Master Password is enabled on one device, it needs to be enabled on all devices connected to a Sync account.

Type about:sync-log in the URL bar and hit Enter. Do you have any error reports on the devices where Logins sync isn't working?

The text of the log can be posted here: https://pastebin.mozilla.org/ Make sure you select "a month" for data retention; "a day" is the default.

Then provide the resultant URL (after posting) here so a Sync support person can review those logs - latest per device. Might take a few days to get a knowledgeable response here. '

Hello, I am trying to sync my browser data between two computers. On the computer I want the data from I click on "Sign in to Sync". This brings me through a couple menus asking me to sign in with google, and finally sends me to a space to set my password. I already have an account associated with my email and already have a password. I type in my same password again and a red bar with "Unverified Session" appears at the top. I am using the latest version of firefox on windows 11. I do not want to delete my account or make a new one. I have tried as many ways as I can think of to link my existing mozilla account to my browser but it simply will not let me. Another support ticket solved this by creating a new account but I find this solution unsatisfactory.

I had a new windows installation done without backing up the firefox profile while foolishly resetting the firefox password too without using the recovery key and effectively losing my current data.

Is there anything that could be done to restore the data to my account or is that the end?

I changed my PC. Then i installed Firefox my new PC and login Firefox account. But my old PC's Firefox account all data will de deleted history passwords etc. It was looks like a new account. How can i restore my old data. My old PC was already formatted.

Duplicate tab closer closed all tabs that weren't loaded into memory, so how may I restore tabs across all tab groups that were closed as now showing 0 ZERO tabs open in most tab groups!?

I had to change my operating system. before doing that I made sure I have sync my browser. Now after installation browser and login to my account the sync is not doing what I was hoping for. The sync is just uploading the new configuration to the cloud but it is not downloading all the history and add-ons from a version before OS change. I see it is stored but I don't see any option to load those to the current browser. Please, advise what can I do?

I use 1 Firefox account on 3 devices (2 PCs and a smartphone). On the first PC, the number of synchronized passwords is 1126. On the second PC - 135 (similar on a smartphone).

I pressed the "Synchronize" button many times, everything works, new tabs appear, but there are no passwords. What to do? I'm afraid that if I log out of my account on the first PC, I will lose all access forever.

Hi, some years ago sending tabs to a device worked fine, but for some time now it stopped working. Is it just me or is it a general bug? All my devices are listed in my account. It also shows that they are updated frequently. I tried sending from Windows-Firefox to Android-Firefox and back. Nothing worked. What can I do? Best regards, Eric

I have been requested by e-mail to update my Firefox 78.15.Oesr (64 bits) before the end of March. Is this update compatible with my MacBookPro5,4 with IOS El Capitan 10.11.6? Please note that I cannot install a more recent IOS. Without updating my present Firefox, would I still have access to all my favorite folders and applications? Thanks for your help. I am signed into Firefox on desktop and mobile using the same email. I've enabled sync and have synced. Yet my passwords from the mobile browser still don't show on desktop. And the instructions to scan a QR code don't work because they state to click the "sync and save data" option on Android, which doesn't exist for me. How do I sync?

On a legacy iMac with over ten years of Firefox usage, I suddenly cannot sign in. The mac caps out at High Sierra 10.13.6 and I am unable to activate sync. I have tried allowing all cookies, restarting the browser several times, and even explored the config files.... to no avail.

How do I "enable local storage"? that's the error that sync provides me, but there is no option to fix that and all of your help files point me to cookies information (which I have done everything with). There are no actual help files to fix the local storage problem. This is frustrating!

Do I have to uninstall the entire application? If so, how to I preserve my bookmarks and pws without also porting over whatever is broken in the application?

My old device has broken and I was wondering if there's any way to transfer the open tabs from it to my new device?

I've signed in to my account already and it ported over my history as well as bookmarks but I don't see a way to port over the open tabs? I'm not sure if they were synced and I can't go back to sync them now as the previous device is broken

I have to computer with totally different tabs. Will Firefox sync combine the two sets of tabs? I realize that I may have duplicates and a LOT of tabs. I just don't want to lose any tabs or bookmarks when the computers sync afterward. I am currently assuming that the tabs sets will be merged and that I will have to remove duplicates.

Dear community, I have used firefox for years now and I had it synced with my email adressed. Today I wanted to login with a second profile (from my work) (I did this via about:profiles, adding a new profile) and when I logged back into my private email I had to change the password since I forgot. Suddenly ALL my user data was deleted, my passwords, my bookmarks, my history. It even shows in my profile that I just opend the account with that email adress now, today, even though I had my account for years. ALL my data is lost. PLEASE help! I am desperate. I have always been struggling with the idea of syncing two devices, that is main and secondary devices, and that when logged out of the secondary device, user details such as passwords, booksmarks and other important things are left bare on that browser or secondary device.

It is my believe that, after completing whatever task that led users to sync both devices, the moment the user logs out on the secondary computer, or any of the computers, the passwords, bookmarks, history and other essential details should not display again on such computer or browser anymore but apparently thats not the case with Mozilla Firefox browser.

Kindly look into that and work on it....THE SECURITY AND SAFETY OF THE USER IS LEFT WIDE OPEN!!!
