I changed my Home page and "When Firefox Starts:" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time". Now every time I start Firefox I am prompted that another application has changed my start page and I am given the options of either reverting to the original setting (the default) or keeping the new setting. When I choose to keep my setting, I am prompted a second time with the same options and default. When I choose again to keep my setting I can finally continue with it until have to restart Firefox. This is extremely frustrating and unless I can find a solution I am reluctantly going to switch to another browser. This problem is on my new laptop running Windows 10 and Firefox 46.0.1. I am also currently using Firefox on Windows XP desktop and an Ubuntu Linux laptop, neither of which has this problem. I am not certain of the Firefox version on either of these two systems

Please help me solve this problem. I have used Firefox for a long time and do not want to learn to use another browser.

One of my customers run an web application in Firefox and they want their users to just be able to use Firefox for that particular site. They run Firefox 42 today and we have managed to remove all the "bars" using the UserChrome.css folder. We have also applied some custom settings using the .cfg file. However, now they want to upgrade to Firefox 48 and I tried the same solution but it doesn´t work. For some reason UserChrome.css doesnt get copied to the profiles folder. If I manually copy it, it works.

In Firefox 42 the UserChrome.css is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\browser\defaults\profile\Chrome

Is there any changes done to the folder structure in Firefox 48? Do you have any suggestions how I can solve this?

When I start my browser all buttons on toolbar are in their places.

When I resize my browser window to make it smaller, these buttons collapse to one "arrow" icon:

But when I resize my browser window to make it bigger again or maximize browser window, those buttons don't reappear no matter what I do next.

The only thing that helps is to close browser and run it again.

I want Firefox to remember my history at websites so I don't have to keep entering my username and passwords. I go into the Menu, click on Options, then Privacy, then choose the option to have Firefox remember my history. After that it works fine. However, when I shut off my computer and then turn it on again later the settings that I chose (to remember history) haven't been saved and I have to go through that whole process of Options, Privacy, Remember My History all over again. How can I get Firefox to remember/save my settings so I don't have to do this each time I turn on my computer? Thanks for any help you can provide on this.

Under about:preferences#security, you can choose what sites can download add-ons without you needing to allow it thru the Exceptions button by Warn Me When Sites Try To Install Add-ons

The defaults are; marketplace.firefox.com and addons.mozilla.org

But every time Firefox is restarted, this list is deleted. Even resetting Firefox does not fix this. I deleted the prefs.js file, but no joy. I checked, and found this enter in the file, but it will not display when Firefox is started.

dom.mozApps.signed_apps_installable_from;https://marketplace.firefox.com

I even downgraded from Firefox 34.0.5 to 33.1.1 but the issue is still there.

As far as I can tell, this is the only setting that is having trouble.

Hi. I made a dumb mistake and installed an add-on or extension (not sure which) that I was hoping would allow me to view YouTube videos in full-screen. Unfortunately I can't recall the name of the add-on/extension.

The problem is, now every time I open Firefox it opens in "full screen" and NOTHING (including F11) will allow me to access the taskbar, the address bar, or any of the other Firefox controls. I can't do anything at all but view the home page in full-screen! The only option I have is to hit control-alt-delete and close Firefox.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox and this didn't solve the problem. Please help. Thank you!

P.S. I'm writing this in Internet Explorer since I currently can't use Firefox.

Up to before v.43, our emergency alert program would open Firefox at http://cad.chp.ca.gov. Now Firefox opens to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/43.0.1/firstrun/learnmore/, and disappears within a few seconds. Accepting "Try the new private browsing" does not solve the problem.

What has changed so we can modify our code?

Thank you for help.

I've been having a great deal of trouble with Firefox lately on my MS Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10. It began with my passwords not automatically filling in. I tick the check box and next time I start Firefox, it's unchecked. I tried all of the troubleshooting ideas I could find here and none of them worked. I tried refreshing. I tried safe mode. I even uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Mozilla folder in %appdata%. Reinstalling a fresh version of Firefox with no add-ons, no extensions and sync turned off still didn't fix the problem. To add to my woes, today I am unable to search from the Firefox start page. When I type a search term, the progress indicator just swirls away and nothing happens. The same goes if I type the search in the address bar or the search box in the new tab page. If I open up a Google page, the search works fine. There's obviously something on my system that is interfering with Firefox, but for the life of me, I don't know what it is. The only thing that comes to mind is my antivirus, Trend Micro, but disabling it didn't help. The issue with the passwords started a little over a week ago (at least, that's when I noticed it) and I only noticed the search problem today.
