The browser just shuts down when one tries to create a new flow ... obviously there is not a way to screenshot this ... one suspects this is a javascript issue.

Details:

• OS - Debian 12 (Wayland | Gnome 43.9)
• Nightly Version - Debian Repo (mozilla-deb - 1.0) | 132.0a1 (2024-09-23) (64-bit)
• URL / Actions - make.powerautomate.com > New Instant Cloud Flow > Name it & Select Manually trigger a flow

What Else Have I Tried?

• Ungoogle Chromium - Absolutely fine, no add-ons
• Firefox mozilla-deb - 1.0 130.0.1 (64-bit) - Absolutely fine, no add-ons

My Firefox browser is updated to the most recent version. I've previously used ProtonVPN and I've never had any problems. As soon as I updated Firefox, however; there are connectivity issues and pages won't load. I've tested with other web browsers and are able to load pages there while they simultaneously won't load in Firefox. I've tried deleting ProtonVPN and re-installing, but that didn't work either. I reached out to Proton about this and they are looking into it from their end to see if there is a solution, but I'm pretty confident it has something to do with Firefox as other browsers are working as they should be.

Why is the sessionstore.jsonlz4 generated from a private firefox window ? It is not private anymore if the session is stored in place of the regular session, which by the way happens not to be generated when the regular firefox window is closed while a private firefox window is still open. The private firefox window should have no effect on the regular session storage and should never be stored, all this is very confusing.

After the last update, the mouse wheel in the browser stopped working. This is very inconvenient, the pages do not scroll with the mouse wheel, only with the arrows on the keyboard.

For the past few days, I haven't been able to use Google Lens for searches. Why? It used to work, and I haven't changed anything on my computer.

I read the support article about this problem: everything seems fine, Google is definitely my search engine... Can you tell me what I need to do to get it working again? Thank you

I only opened 5 pages (fixed tabs), and only enabled two plug-ins, Proxy SwitchyOmega and AdGuard AdBlocker. The browser was always open, and the pages were static, and nothing was playing. The strange thing is that it didn't take up much memory at the beginning, but it took up more and more memory over time. Today the system got stuck and couldn't respond (it might be that the system used virtual memory).

I used the browser's task manager, which showed that the Shared Web Process memory of several pages was very high, some as high as 4G, and the GPU memory was also higher than before.

I think this is very strange. Why does the memory usage increase exponentially after the webpage has been there for a while?

My settings and usage habits have basically not changed. I didn't have this problem before, but it has appeared in the past six months. I have updated many versions, but the problem still exists. I have always used Firefox. If it continues like this, I will be very disappointed and have to make changes.

"The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can caused this problem".

How do I resolve this problem?

I'm experiencing an issue with the drag and drop functionality in my browser that's significantly affecting my workflow. Previous behavior:

I could drag any selected text to any area of the browser window to open a new search tab I could lightly drag links anywhere to open them in new tabs

Current behavior:

Now I must drag content specifically to the tab bar at the top to open new tabs This extra precision required is frustrating and slowing down my browsing

I haven't intentionally changed any settings, and this change happened suddenly. This functionality was extremely useful for me as I frequently need to open multiple tabs while researching. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this a new "feature" or a bug? Most importantly, does anyone know how to restore the previous drag and drop behavior? Firefox on MacOS in full screen mode makes the black offset between the screen edge and the Firefox window after logging in after MacOS is locked. It fixes itself when you exit the full screen and enter it again.

How to reproduce?

• Open Firefox and enter the full screen mode
• Close your MacBook and wait until it prompts you for your password or touch id
• The Firefox window has black offset between screen edge and the Firefox window, that was not present before
• Exit the full screen and get into it again, and the offset is gone

Hello, I have 3 PCs. One is Windows 10, Firefox 131.0.3 One is Windows 10 firefox 131.0 One is windows 11 firefox 131.0.3

All 3 PCs are running BOINC, using the remaining CPU power up to 100%

On PC W10 + FF 131.0 and PC W11 + FF131.0.3 BOINC and FF share the processor time up to 100% On the PC W10 + FF 131.0.3 when FF is dispatched, no processor time is assigned to BOINC and CPU busy is no more 100%. This situation occurs frequently and can last several minutes.

I’ve noticed that Firefox consumes a lot of memory, especially when I have multiple tabs open. Sometimes, it slows down my entire system, and Task Manager shows Firefox using over 1GB of RAM even with just a few tabs. Other browsers like Chrome or Edge seem to handle memory better with the same number of tabs.

I’ve tried restarting Firefox, closing unused tabs, and disabling a few extensions, but the problem keeps coming back. I even checked techsquest.com for tips, but I’m still struggling. Are there specific settings, hidden features, or optimizations I can apply to reduce Firefox’s memory usage without sacrificing performance?

Here’s what I’ve already checked:

Firefox is updated to the latest version.

No unusual extensions running (just uBlock Origin and Dark Reader).

Hardware acceleration is enabled.

I am not able to receive mail from a user sending me mail from a gmail.com account. I have communicated with my ISP Optonline.net and they state the there mail process "checks out" and the issue could be the browser I am using, Firefox. The last email I have from a gmail.com sender was 8/28/2025. I have asked two different gmail users the send me mail and have not received any of them. I have cleared the Firefox cache but that did not correct the issue. I come to you to figure this issue out and hopefully solve it. After updating to v 133.0, when maximizing Firefox (not F11 fullscreen), a taskbar that is set to "auto-hide" will no longer unhide when mousing to the bottom of the screen. This did not occur with the previous version (132.0.2).

This behavior is also unaffected by the "devtools.toolbox.alwaysOnTop" setting in about:config as i've tried switching from the default "true" to "false".

Update: Still persists in 136.0.2

I use Internet Bill Pay through my bank, and it has always worked correctly with Firefox. I have enhanced tracking protection turned off for the site secureinternetbank.com and I have cookies authorized in my exceptions list. Today I got this message:

Bank says it hasn't changed anything, and no tweaks I tried on privacy settings fixed it. I believe it's an issue with the new version. Can you tell me how to fix it or let me know when Firefox will fix it? The site works fine in Microsoft Edge, but I'd like to avoid using Edge.

Wikipedia render Thai fonts correctly. But it seems to render Latin texts and numbers in "TH Charm of AU" font for Thai articles, which I did not set anywhere in the browser (and my operating system). Ticking "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above" does not fix it either. But it renders fonts correctly in English version of the same article. (See the attached images).

Any ways to fix this?

Since the last Firefox update, I am unable to sign into my Outlook account. When I click "Sign In" it opens a new tab with the sign-in buttons. Works fine in Edge and Chrome.

I have reinstalled Firefox on my Mac many times, completely removed all files using app cleaner, and reset Firefox by holding shift and option on start. Despite this, the app is very slow to launch, and when it does no pages load or render. Opening a new tab freezes the entire app for 15-30 seconds, and when the tab opens it is completely blank. Attempting to browse to a URL does nothing, and the address bar just returns to being empty. Attempting to open settings does nothing, although parts of the app that open separate windows such as the about version info and bookmarks work fine. The only thing I haven't done at this point is completely reinstalling macOS, so maybe there is something wrong with my system config. I first noticed this issue when using the early macOS Sequoia betas, and assumed the app wasn't updated to support it yet. However after updating macOS and completely removing and reinstalling all traces of Firefox, it still doesn't work. I am currently using macOS 15.1 beta, however the issue also persisted on 15.0.
