On my new desktop I want to enable the feature that does the following.

I want to be able to view a webpage and then ctrl click or M3 click a link and I want the new link to open in a new tab but REMAIN on the current webpage.

I have unticked >When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately under settings already.

browser.tabs.loadInBackground under about:config is set to True.

I am a long-time user and fan of Firefox (which will remain my browser of choice). For that reason it seems, I keep getting prompted to pin Firefox to the Taskbar.

I don't want to do that, as I keep my taskbar small and uncluttered (nothing is pinned there). Hence I'd like to turn off being asked. However, when I get the above message I have only 2 options: Yes or Not Now. And it seems 'Not now' means "not now, but of course feel free to keep asking".

Is there any way I can turn of this pop up permanently?

First, I apoligize if this is not correctly posted here but this kind of fit multiple categories.

I love Firefox and have used it for quite a long time. However, recently I have had multiple issues, most which have not been resolved. This issue however needs to get fixed because I cannot do this every time. For some reason, if I close the browser and open it again, my account has been disconected and it wants me to log in again. I did find a post regarding this from 10 months ago which a user stated the following:

"Your ‘logged-in’ status is stored in special cookies. If the cookie is removed, you are logged out. You may be in Private Browsing mode or told Firefox not to remember. Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar. The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings. Turn off Always Use Private Browsing Mode Turn on Remember My Browsing And Download History At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on ONLY Cache and Form And Search History leaving the others off."

I followed this hoping it would be the end of it but it still keeps on happening. If I can't get a solution to this, I will have to use another browser. I hate to think that will happen as no other browser has been as good a fit as Firefox but as I am sure you can imagine, this is getting to be too difficult of a process to do 10-20 times a day.

Thank you for reading and I hope someone has some sort of idea on how I might overcome this annoyance. Stay safe and healthy!

This is a maddening bug! I know it started with the recent update to Firefox 100 because the behavior only started AFTER updating and I did not change ANY settings in Windows 10, let alone any related to the keyboard. Please fix this bug!!

I double-checked this setting for Backspace key navigation. Here's what I did:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste browser.backspace_action and pause while the list is filtered

When I did this I saw the value was set to 2 (do nothing) so something else is causing this bug!

Hi Windows 10 21h2 Firefox 100.0 When pasting images from the clipboard into a website (atlassian confluence for example) firefox uses a generic image name (grafik.png) instead of the actual filename. This started to happend a few weeks ago. I was not able to find a demo page where this can be tested, other browsers don't have this issue.

Anyone having similiar issues or an idea how to fix it?

Thanks

Hello

Is there a way to find previously viewed images somewhere? I was watching an image in the Firefox browser a few days ago and now that I went back to check it again the page had been removed by the user. I assume all images that I´ve viewed has been stored somewhere on my computer? Where can I see these?

The same question goes for webpages. The image was on a webpage that I would like to view again but it was removed along with the image. Can I see whole pages that I´ve previously browsed somewhere?

I know this has been posssible in the past but it was like 10 years ago I last checked.

Thanks!

Hi there, I've noticed some minor but annoying problem with browser vertical maximization.

When I vertically maximize browser by dragging upper form line to the top of the screen, upper and lower side of browser form are snapped to top and bottom of my screen. If I close browser in that (maximized) state, next time when I open it, whole browser form isn't snapped top and bottom anymore. It is slightly moved up. It would be great if this can be fixed soon. Like I said before... it's not big deal but it is little bit annoying and degrading whole user experience with browser.

I am using latest Firefox and Windows 11 Pro. 2K monitor resolution 2560 x 1440px

Thanks in advance

Apparently, yesterday at 9:03AM, Firefox download 8 blank HTM files. I have not clicked on them to see what they are. I do not know where they came from. They have random file names and when I right click to read the properties, it says zero bytes. I have already googled this question a billion different ways, but I have come up with nothing.

I have virus scanned it, but it found nothing.

I do not know where these came from. I was at work at 9:03AM yesterday, and I never download anything from random sites, and like I said, I wasn't even on my computer yesterday at that time to download anything. No one else could either, I live alone. I only just noticed this today when I checked my download folder and found 8 random files, and it says FireFox downloaded them yesterday.

I've included a picture of what it looks like. What on earth is this? And why is it microsoft edge logo? I don't even use that darn browser.
