I'm on a Mac, running Catalina, with 64 GBs of RAM, and Firefox is using about 20+ GBs of RAM, and very high CPU usage. I keep trying new updated versions, hoping this will no longer be an issue, but it persists. Is there anything I can really do, to tamper it down?

I tried opening FF in safe mode, only to find several windows with several tabs on each GONE! Why should troubleshooting issues only make me more frustrated and ready to can this browser forever? Help should be help, not making things worse...

Just having upgraded to V89.0.1, I won't focus on how more difficult to see the separation of tabs, but instead: All my folders in bookmarks have turned clear and appear to be the basic default look. Specific sites under each folder, as well as the individual sites not in folders, have kept their (what used to be called) Favicons.

I see no customizing option for this. Can I at least give the top level folder a color, WITHOUT FANCY PROGRAMMING OR EDITING OF DEEP CONFIGURATION FILES, just by menu clicking?

I'll conclude by not asking why the Powers thought to remove such things. To me it makes it HARDER to find my way around Firefox and displayed page.

Hi,

I noticed a problem on my MacBook Pro when Firefox is running. When I have 4 tabs opened on a precise streaming website, with the sound disabled on these 4 tabs, and I run other tab (like youtube) or other app (VLC, Music,...) with the sound enabled on it, I can ear some "pop" or "crackle" in the speakers.

I performed the same test with Safari and the problem don't appear.

Motherbaord, and speakers have been replace on my laptop by AppleCare. I think it's a software issue (maybe due to Firefox, maybe to macOs). I contacted Apple to explain my problem and ask them try to reproduce the issue, but they won't do until Mozilla confirm that the issue is not due to Firefox...

I did't find how to contact Firefox support Team, so I posted here...

Regards, Joe

Firefox's onboard spellchecker needs to go back to college, or probably high school! Every day I have several words with the dotted underline, telling me they're not words, or not spelled correctly. However, when checking the dictionary, I confirm that the spell-check feature is wrong, and I am correct! I don't want to disable it completely, as it does let me know when I've made a typo, which I can quickly correct, but it's a pain in the butt to keep having it say something's wrong with a word, and there's not... I honestly can't believe it can be that hard to use a source that's accurate, when it's something on everyone's screen that uses Firefox...

Like to be able speak words directly into search bar (and secondly into other text alphanumeric fields). Just like I do into iPhone. This would help me greatly since I'm not the best speller and I usually speak faster than I can type. I sure it would help others as well.

Thanks

With today's Firefox update, the edges of the tabs, that allow me to visually distinguish between the multiple tabs that I always have open, disappeared. Now, it is only the font/text that is visible when looking at my browser's multiple tabs. The edges have disappeared, only showing up as a faint shadow when I hover the pointer over a tab. And depending on the name listed on the tab, this makes it very difficult to distinguish one tab from another. This change to the way that Firefox looks is making it difficult for me to maneuver between tabs, and get my work done.

I tried changing colours, as well as the different themes, but in all cases, the edges remain invisible. Attached is a screen image of the different colour/themes, showing that in every case, the edges of the tabs remain invisible.

Is there a way to bring the edges back into view? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I run FF on both a Windows machine and a MacBook Pro. On the MBP the browser does not save my tabs, despite "restore previous session" being selected. I do not have this problem on the Windows machine.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the browser but it has not made a difference.

I'm running the latest version of the browser and the OS is Big Sur.

When browsing on my iMac 27" Retina full width screen views webites as if it's an iPhone. Which is very annoyning fills the window as if it was mobile phone. Sometimes when doing a supermarket shop it goes big when you move the mouse sideways!

I have a WordPress website using a Divi theme and this is displaying incorrectly. It's fine in Safari!

https://www.reevesdesign.co.uk/

This has only happened since the latest update Firefox 89.0 Weird I have just cleared cache and it views OK.

Still got that annoying big screen when shopping, that you can't get out of.

Anyone else getting these problems on iMac please?

Hello My desktop Firefox (iMac) did an automatic update and now I have the floaty tab redesign and I intensely dislike it. Is there a way to make the tabs look like how they did before? I am so unhappy. It's ugly and I can't tell the tabs apart very well (they have no dividing graphics). I am this close ---><--- to Time Machining myself back to the previous Firefox version. Help? I'd guess there's already a discussion regarding this, but I don't know where. Getting rid of the borders when there are multiple tabs open and turning things gray makes for a far worse browsing experience for me. Why would one string of undifferentiated text in a long line of tabs make things any easier? It does not.

I've found a helpful site that allows turning off the new theme, but a commenter advises that that option too will soon be disabled: https://www.askvg.com/tip-restore-old-classic-theme-and-ui-in-firefox-89-and-later-versions/

Is there an add-on that keeps the "classic" theme? I've googled how to provide feedback. One of those links is dead. What's the best way to make my thoughts known?

People love tech, but the older I get the more I see how it demonstrates a lack of ownership, that nothing is really yours on your devices, that what you're comfortable with is only one weekly update away.

Since the recent update to 89.0, I've been experiencing longer than normal initial page loads from start up or wake up for my MBP. Safe mode doesn't seem to matter, and it doesn't matter if a browser window is open and a page loaded or if I'm opening a new browser window, that first page load (or reload) takes much longer than it should (up to 10 seconds to load for example, the Google home page). Once I'm past that initial page load, my browser speed is fine. I also checked Safari and Chrome on this MBE, and neither have this issue, which leads me to believe it isn't a security or some other setting on the Mac.
