HI- Recently lots of my fonts have started displaying as question marks on certain sites (such as the autofill on Google). If I uncheck the box in prefs that allows websites to use their own fonts, it's fine. But then the sites look nasty. I've reinstalled Firefox 69.0.2 but its no better. It's a work Apple mac so I can't access all the settings but the issue is only on Firefox. Please don't make me use Chrome! Thanks

Even when I search in Preferences --> Search --> Find more search engines, Google does not even appear in the results. When I visit Google.com, the green plus sign does not appear on the magnifying glass in the search toolbar, but it shows up on almost every other site. Even on this Mozilla Support site, the green plus sign appears and I can add this to my search toolbar, but I can't add Google.

This all started when I updated my Mac to Catalina, but I don't see why that would affect my ability to simply add Google to my search toolbar. Someone please help, this is driving me insane.

In addition to the question below, another problem is not only are my email responses erased when the browser refreshes, the message itself is no longer available. I have to start from the beginning point in my email list, rather than remain on the once-opened email.

By the way, I have reset and restored my Firefox as a solution, which didn't help. I did this twice, following instructions. The process was tedious and I had to recover quite a bit of information, not to mention a problem with merged bookmarks. I'd like to avoid this solution, at all costs. Here's what I said earlier. Again, thanks for any/all help you can provide.

For the past several weeks, now, I've noticed that my browser "refreshes" the feed more frequently, so frequently, in fact, that any emails, forms, or survey questions that I am answering get wiped clean. This started happening with the latest update. I am unable to locate any setting in my preferences that will stop the constant refreshment (reload? page update?). This is also frustrating when trying to make purchases on line, and as I said, write emails, complete forms, complete surveys, etc.

Thank you in advance for quickly resolving this most frustrating problem? I use a Mac, and am running Mavericks. This problem was present with the previous OS, too. Thanks again!

I want to be able to open a new tab in an existing window from the command line on Mac OS X. The help indicates that I should be able to do this by running:

/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin --new-tab <url>

but this attempts to open a second copy of the browser, which results in the error:

"A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time."

Is there a way round this?

I was on the beta update channel until FF 57.0 beta took out my add-ons. So I deleted it and downloaded FF 56.0 regular release. Since then, I cannot quit FF without it crashing. EVERY SINGLE TIME: crash reporter comes up if I don't Force Quit first. I quit FF multiple times a day to clear cookies and cruft for security reasons, and this is a PITA. I saw another thread with a similar complant, and the suggestion was to uncheck 'clear history on close' or something like that, which is not acceptable to me: the ability to customize this sort of thing is why I use FF.

I have tried: clearing history and cookies, rebooting computer, and opening FF with no other program open yet: crash. being signed in to FF to sync bookmarks: crash not being signed in to FF: crash closing all windows before quitting: crash windows open at quitting: crash verifying legacy app booleans in about:config were set to defaults (they were): crash Wifi on, or wifi off: crash

Very frustrated. Any help appreciated.

I'm using FF63.0.3 and a Mac with OS 10.11.6. Firefox works generically well EXCEPT sometimes when I try to save bookmarks, all hell breaks loose. I save them, they LOOK like they're saved, and I try to sync. The sync goes off in never-never land, and never finishes. Aaargh, I say, and I restart Firefox, whereby my new bookmarks are GONE! No memory of them. No record of being at them in my History. Now I should say that when I kill Firefox in this circumstance, I get an "Application not responding" error, so clearly something has already been hosed.

I should say that this happens occasionally. Not always. But it's pretty exasperating when it does, trying to recover those lost bookmarks. Normally, when I sync, it just takes a few seconds, and everything is keen.

Insights abut why, or how to prevent this? This has been going on for months, surviving re-downloading Firefox, and reboots.

If I click on the link I want (as per the image) I would instantly be able to copy the link and paste it in an email. I now can't do this. I now have to wait for the page to be fully loaded, which is a pain as I like to work quickly and this takes time when I have slow internet connection. I also reply to email etc without internet connection sometime so this is not ideal Any ideas?

From my public IP of 104.158.49.18 FF ses the web site https://www.publicmobile.ca/ as a potential security risk. FF is reporting this incorrectly as other web browsers show this site as valid. I have included the certificate values.

what is the reason for the error meesage? Someone could be trying to impersonate the site and you should not continue.

Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust www.publicmobile.ca because its certificate issuer is unknown, the certificate is self-signed, or the server is not sending the correct intermediate certificates.

My eyesight is limited. Unfortunately, I am unable to determine where in the toolbar of the library window the button for exporting bookmarks to an html file can be found. The attached image provides an idea of what I am looking at.

IMAGE: https://user-media-prod-cdn.itsre-sumo.mozilla.net/uploads/images/2020-05-18-05-49-03-6c245b.png

The reason I am looking in the toolbar of the library window is the Firefox documentation for version 76 on a mac corresponds to the Firefox version I have and the computer I am running it on states:

From the toolbar on the Library window, click BUTTON ICON (PLEASE REFER TO ATTACHED SKETCH) Import and Backup and choose Export Bookmarks to HTML...

I looked across the toolbar, then the entire Window marked "Library". I wrote a program to search the Library window for an image that could conceivably be the button indicated in the documentation. Sadly, the results of these efforts is I am here requesting assistance. It is not that I do not love each and every one of you, but my preference is not to have to take the time for putting together a question to post here. It does not take long, but when we live at internet speed, every microsecond counts, I know you agree with this very important principle, particularly in light of the visit currently taking place where Covid and his entourage have all of us ridiculously locked up. We have flattened the curve and also found out the numbers Fauci and Birx showed the President to justify this lockdown have been proven, not correct, more like wildly wrong. So while we wait for the lockdown to be cancelled, my preference due to how my parents raised me is to be able to find the button described in the documentaiton, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, button not there... unless maybe you can see it and I am missing it.. My hopes is you will refer to the image at this link in order to enhance the likelihood of success in my quest of the moment, i.e., making my quesiton understandable to anyone who might be interested or/and able to persist in pointing out the location of the great button of the bookmark export.

https://user-media-prod-cdn.itsre-sumo.mozilla.net/uploads/images/2020-05-18-05-49-03-6c245b.png

Any assistance you can provide would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
