I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.3 because of slow flash player activity, and that was not resolved (Slow CPU, Pentum SSE2 machine). Configuration still identifies browser as Mozilla 2.0.1 -- but browser is clearly upgraded version with skins and new features working, etc .

When I attempt to edit text (UTF locale, but US only or foreign doesn't matter) the cursor in the web based text edit boxes (eg: Forums) becomes mis-aligned and off by 1/2 to one character, the graphics of the character are repeatedly rendered offset from proper position causing "ghost" characters. In the rendering of Forums when not being edited, occasional characters overlap as well confusing the spelling of words. etc.

Wrong rendering does not appear in normal HTML pages, but only in ones created by standard forums software. Vbulletin, etc. The problem is especially acute on a couple of sites devoted to religious/inter-religious dialog -- problem does not exist in 2.x versions of Mozilla; but I prefer not to downgrade.

I've just been given the option to upgrade my Ubuntu Linux (from Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx). Although the updated colour scheme and Fire fox look great, one annoyance is that the 'close window' X-icon has moved from the right-hand corner to the left-hand corner. As a right-handed person, my mouse pointer drifts over to the right-hand side of windows, so moving this icon from the right corner to the left corner doesn't make sense to me, as a right-handed person (~90% of the world are right-handed?). I know that there's almost definitely a keyboard shortcut for 'close window' but I would like to see the 'Close window' 'x' back in the right-hand corner, or an option/preference to put it back where it always used to be! (as far as I know...).

Running Firefox 3.6.3 on openSUSE Linux 11.0. Have reinstalled twice, including completely deleting the .mozilla profile. No effect. Clicking on the youtube address from Google will INSTANTLY crash Firefox totally. I have blocked all cookies from Youtube due to a problem with their "an error occurred" message in Opera and also blocked them in Firefox. I have also tried "Private Browsing" with no effect - still crashes. I am extremely upset by this situation. Also, when I access the full Gmail interface (instead of the embedded interface in iGoogle), Firefox ALSO crashes instantly. These are the two main Web pages I NEED Firefox to work for! This is utterly unacceptable and I see from Googling that MANY people have this problem. It needs an IMMEDIATE FIX!
