Recently moved and transferred cable internet service to new address, keeping same equipment. But when using Firefox, my home geo-location still shows as being in my former region when using online maps, shopping, etc, sites. I'm sure it's not a DNS/server issue as other web browsers show my correct geolocation, and those "what is my IP" sites also show correct region. ISP customer service also confirms my profile is updated.

For the record: - Firefox version: 71.0 - Verified sites have location request permissions - Tried launching in Firefox safe mode - Tried Firefox Refresh

I am living in Spain, and browse in English. Often when I do a search with Google, although the result is linking to a page in English, the final page is in the one for the Spanish market (es_Es).

A good example is the Seagate website. Even direct links from other forums are redirected to their Spanish version. Also, after cleaning cache for Seagate sites, restarting, AND trying it in a Private Window.

My config: macOs 10.15.4 set to UK English. Firefox Dev Edition 76.0b3, (language same as OS) with: - Privacy & Security: Enhanced Tracking Protection > Standard - Privacy & Security: Locations > "Block new requests asking to access your location" checked - about:config > geo.enabled set to false. Google Search Region Settings are set to "United States". –

It says in Mozilla documentation: "By default, Firefox uses Google Location Services to determine your location by sending: your computer’s IP address" https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/does-firefox-share-my-location-websites

I do not want Google to know where I am and collect a dossier on my browsing history. I'm not talking about doing this on a smartphone where location is important; this is on a PC.

I did not see it in Preferences, but can it be disabled by entering about:config and changing one of the listed preferences?

Hi there My question is How can I find " web browser ask share location permission block " under about:config ? I know We can set manual under option-private-permission-location-block all website.. May I ask is there a quickly edit under about:config?

I want to build a progressive web app. This app requires the user's GPS coordinates. In order to test this functionality cross-browser, I use w3schooll geolocation implementation. Link: https://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml5_geolocation

Compared to Chrome, Firefox sometimes returns the wrong coordinates. For example yesterday (13/03/2020) the coordinates were wrong all day. Today (14/03/2020) the coordinates are right. The coordinates are crucial for the success of the app. I use Firefox 74.0

When I try to access content from channel 4, it says that I am not in the UK. https://www.channel4.com/programmes/first-dates/on-demand/55507-004 All add-ons disabled. Same issue.

I am connected to a vpn and it is located in the UK. See the attached images.

I know that the vpn is fine because this works flawlessly in the google garbage browser. Actually, any browser at all. Just firefox remains blocked.

I tried with geo.enabled set to true and false as well.

I know most people are trying to stop location services permissions, but I like letting sites like Yelp, etc, know where I am so they can use "current location." I have tried to use the privacy settings to add websites that I allow location permission, but that part of the site doesn't work for me. I can't add any websites in the box. I'm very smart, but I can't figure this out. I need a super intensely simplified step-by-step lesson to figure it out. I've been trying for 2 weeks on my own and am ready to dump firefox for chrome, where I can allow location permissions very easily. Please help me. Thanks.

Firefox completely freezes up whenever I visit a page that uses geolocation services and I Allow Location Access. An example URL is:

Another example is FedEx.com.

I've tried troubleshooting this by running Firefox in Safe Mode but that does not help. The only way I can get those pages to work again without freezing up Firefox is to clear out or disallow location permissions.

I noticed that version 65.0.2 supposedly fixed a bug related to geolocation services affecting Windows users. Well, for me at least, this bug fix has introduced a bug that I didn't have before.

How can I get this looked into and fixed?

After a recent update to Firefox, I cannot access Hulu. It requests that I enable location sharing (which I do), but it still doesn't work. I've tweaked settings, disabled add on's and still nothing. I'm using Linux Mint 19.3, Firefox 73.0.1.

Geolocation doesn't seem to work on Firefox for me. I can't use Google Maps or other location-based services even after giving permissions.

When I click the link in the answer to this question I get the error that says PAGE NOT FOUND. How I can set my location for all sites? Or can I just choose to set it site-by-site?

At the same time & same ISP my location service show wrong location by Firefox. if i search "My location" in Google.com using Microsoft Edge Browser the location is correct & accurate but with Firefox & Chrome Browser it shows me wrong location. I have try to uninstall & reinstall Firefox & Chrome but both have same issue.

My Current location is Ahmedabad (Correct in Edge Browser) where as in Firefox it shows Surendranagar near Rajkot about 250 K.M. away.

Literally every site comes with this annoying pop-up on firefox

"Will you allow [enter site here] to access your location?"

The thing is I delete cookies/clear browser often. A lot of sites (paypal, bank of america, etc) have problems and the easiest way to fix it is literally to clear your cookies and try it again.

There is only ONE site that I want to allow location access (a news site that finds local news). I don't care for the feature on other sites. Nor do I want to be asked on literally half the sites I visit.

Is there a way to allow location access on only one website and not others? Like how you can save passwords for logins on sites, is there a way to save the location access on one site? Or is there a way to disable firefox from even asking me and by default have it set to "DENY ACCESS" and if I want to allow access is there a way to make a few clicks to allow access for the site I'm on.
