The latest update added a new warning to the "Forget About This Site" feature. I use this sometimes, and when I saw this warning for the first time yesterday, I knew it was going to be a pain in the arse. I understand it's useful to some people, but I do not want to see it every time. How do I disable this warning?

Hi, I am using the dark mode in firefox which is god sent boon to persons having glaucoma, with dark mode in firefox and dark reader add on. This was going well and after a recent update, I could not find it working. The dark mode is enabled and dark reader was there, but the browsing pages only shows in white. Has firefox changed anything recently to have this issue? If I miss something would the experts say, how to get back my dark browsing experience in all sites. If I find anything not visible in some sites, I used to go the windows properties and change the contrast theme to windows basic blue theme and then switched back to dark theme. this was helping the glaucoma persons very much. please, say how to solve this problem

I'm running Windows 8.1 64bit, and a 64bit install of Firefox

Without exception, any time I try to update Firefox or close the program, it balloons its resource usage and then crashes.

Every. Single. Time.

I have submitted several crash reports over the years. What is happening and how do I stop it?

Also, why does it clear my clipboard? I Ctrl-C'd a url before closing it just now, and after it crashed and a restarted it, Ctrl-V was empty.

There has been a legitimate issue with the bookmarks since the 92.0 update. This applies only to Windows 7 users. The list is very lazy and will actually freeze up. It takes forever to highlight the bookmark you want and the favicons are delayed in populating. Refreshing Firefox doesn't work. Renaming favicons.sqlite and places.sqlite, and those with the -shm and -wal extensions, if existing, doesn't work either. I don't need help from contributors. The following message is to the developers &/or whoever bastardized Firefox since the 92.0 update...

As I stated, this is a Windows 7 issue. The developers should fix this problem for us Windows 7 users. It was them who caused this issue since the 92.0 update. Everything worked perfect until then. Here’s a bright idea for the developers. How about getting this matter fixed, so that us Windows 7 users can have the same functionality as everyone else. Stop screwing around with a million and one updates every year. You people are doing more harm than good. The people running Chrome are a hell of a lot more intelligent. No issues whatsoever with Windows 7! Try that on for size.

FireFox 93 will not work on many sweepstakes sites like uwinit.com, winloot.com. We are sorry but it appears that the page you are trying to reach is currently unavailable. Please try again later. Chrome is working on same sites. I use FireFox to enter sweeps and it is mostly useless to me now. I am using Windows 10, Norton SafeWeb, "Cookies are not important to me", Roboform. Can I revert to a usable version of FireFox, or can you tell me how to fix it?

I have noticed a couple of websites I use for work not working correctly after update. I have tried on other browsers such as chrome and they work correctly. One site www.prideprovider.com will no longer allow me to hit the submit button after my information is entered. It worked before the update, but not after. I went through and deleted all history and cookies related to prideprovider and it still doesn't work. Any idea's of what might be going on?

Thanks,

Matt

Hello.

Current Settings: Enhanced Tracking Protection-Standard Without the Free Adblock installed.

Goal: Minimize tracking and pop-up ads from appearing during my browser session:

Please answer each question separately:

Q1. Is the Standard option sufficient or should it be set to strict?

Answer:

Q2a. Does the Standard option OR the Strict option provide the features of an ad-block or does the free Adblock needs to be installed as well in order to receive full protection?

b. When I was about to install the Free Adblock, a warning came up asking me if it was the best adblocker and confirming that the extension would have permission to access my data from all websites, extend developer tools to access my data in open tabs, display notifications to me, access my browser tabs, and access browser activity during navigation/

Do I really want to install Adblock knowing all of the above details?

Firefox will randomly stop resolving google search results. At random times, no search entered at the top url bar will resolve. The browser will just change the text in the bar, and then won't do anything else. If there is a Google page already open, it won't load any links from the results. Google.com won't even load. This typically lasts about 2-5 minutes.

I've seen this in both Windows and Linux. Linux Builds I've tested were the Flatpak from flathub, the snap, the Fedora Repo, and the Tarball binary. They all had the same result after a while of using it. This also happens on both my home network as well as my work network.

I have cleared my profile by manually deleting the folder in appdata or in ~/.mozilla, and tested with no extensions and no setting tweaks. The only tweak I made is disabling DNS over HTTPS. If I change the default search engine to DuckDuckGo or something else, It no longer happens. but that's because it's not trying to access a google domain.

I have attached a gif of my issue.

Today, after I tried to uninstall some mouse drivers leading to a freeze and reboot, my firefox upon starting lost hundreds of open tabs I had, only restoring 1 tab which I am pretty sure I did not even have open. I have already followed solutions in similar problems like this (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1310742), which did not work. First I used shadowexplorer to recover sessionstorebackup files from a restore point on 10/15, most of which did not seem to open anything when using them with the scrounger tool. One of them did open, however it only showed 2 tabs when I would have had hundreds. None of these files did anything when I renamed them to sessionstore.jsonlz4 and placed them in the appropriate folder, even if I deleted the original sessionstore file. Firefox also seemed to be able to recover tabs which I opened after the loss of the original tabs, and renaming and replacing of the sessionstore file until I tried deleting the entire sessionstore backups folder.

I also tried simply doing a system restore back to 10/15, which also failed to help. After doing a system restore, I also tried the whole process of recovering sessionstore backup files and replacing them again, however nothing changed again. I also tried recovering the sessionstore.jsonlz4 file directly and using that to replace my current sessionstore.jsonlz4 file, but that also did not work. The replacement files do seem to contain tabs, as most of them are around a couple MBs large, but after I place them in and restart firefox they get reduced in size back to almost nothing.

The only thing I have not tried is using files from an even older restore point on 10/12, although after having restored to the 10/15 point my 10/12 restore point seems to have disappeared. I can try undoing the restore in order to try to view the 10/12 restore point again, but this process takes multiple hours and I would rather not.

All PCs are Windows 10 (64) Home or Pro

After FireFox updated to ver 93.0 (64 bit) the CenturyLink Webmail page fails to load properly (all I get is a blank screen). I know this is because of version 93.0 because the last PC I checked it on (My Windows 10 (64) laptop) still had FireFox 92.0.xx loaded and the webpage loaded fine, then the browser updated and the webmail page failed to load properly. The CenturyLink Webmail Page loads fine on Google Chrome and on Microsoft Edge.

Troubleshooting: In addition to the usual clearing browser data I even tried resetting FireFox on one of my PCs. It didn't help.

Centurylink tech support says there is nothing wrong with their Webmail and to use another browser.

I've attached a screen capture of what I see.

I posted a similar request here: https://mozilla.crowdicity.com/post/742615, because "Submit Feedback" link redirected me there. Maybe this is the right place for the feedback.

The release note of FF Ver:93 states this:"When available system memory is critically low, Firefox on Windows will automatically unload tabs based on their last access time, memory usage, and other attributes. This should help reduce Firefox out-of-memory crashes. Switching to an unloaded tab automatically reloads it."

This is something those of us with modest RAM (4GB, in my case) have been waiting for, for quite a while. But, FF continues to hog significant memory in spite of the claimed changes as above. I don't see any perceivable changes to my system performance thus far even a few days since the update. The issue, as you'd know better, elevated RAM usage invariably causes a continual spike in Paging, leading to excessive Disk (HDD) usage > resulting in an unresponsive system, which eventually ends up in a system freeze (in my case at least). The only way out being a hard power-down and restart of the system.

I have also set the "Content process limit" to 4 in the settings to no avail. We'd appreciate if you could configure FF behavior to adapt when system resources are low than wait for things to be critical.

I had to do a computer reset on my laptop back to factory settings, everything ok now except one annoying issue I cannot seem to resolve. Some websites I was using perfectly ok in Firefox before now show as tiny text/font size and or generally looks wrong (in firefox) and nothing I do seems to resolve the issue, for example I'm viewing some websites at 130% but some text on the page is still too small. I can view the same sites in chrome with no issues at all at normal 100% level, The best example I could give I can't paste here for obvious reasons, my hargreaves lansdown pension values text is all squashed together so individual text that shows on one line on chrome (correctly) shows as condensed into 2 lines in firefox, the text is big but the values beside it are not for example, any increase in the zoom level doesnt really resolve this issue, yes the text gets bigger but I shouldnt have to read it at 150% zoom !!! but 100% is waaay too small, and the values size is not in sync withe the text beside it. I count myself as fairly savvy technically, I've tried all sorts including clearing cache and cookies and checking settings etc in firefox but this one has me stumped, some sites work ok but it looks like Firefox may be struggling to cope with some sort of display extension that some sites are using to display some parts of their page Any ideas please ? Thanks

FF 93.0 64-bit - Windows 10

When I booted up the system and ran FF the first time for the day, its window opened, and it even asked for the primary password. After that, nothing I typed in the URL box came out. I could open new tabs but not able to switch to them. All Chromium-based browsers and Edge in the same system worked fine.

I did the following trying to fix the problem: I restarted Win10 and ran FF93. Same problem. I restarted using Troubleshooting Mode. Same problem. I reinstalled using the complete package. Same problem. I installed using FF92 and FF91. Same problem. I refreshed FF93 using Troubleshooting Mode. Same problem. I used Win10 Safe Mode to run FF93. It worked. I uninstalled FF93, removed as much as I could all traces of FF and Mozilla in the Win registry, and reinstalled FF93. Same problem.

In the end, I had to use Win10 Recovery and revert to an earlier date to fix it.

The first incident happened about two weeks ago. It happened again this morning. My use of PC has been routine for years, I would say for more than a decade, or at least in the last five years. No extraordinary applications or routines.

BTW, I haven't updated my Win10 in years, because doing so often times gave me new mysterious issues to troubleshoot, courtesy of MS. You should very well know Win updates produce issues, and the bug fixes following them produce even more. The annoying thing is I would research on the issues and find out later (sometimes days) that the updates were the culprits.

This is the second time it happened to my FF93, and I feel I have to report this to get some idea about why this is happening (only to me?) and how to fix or prevent it without having to go into Recovery (again?).
